Position Summary MAG is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to work on software application for military tactical radio system working in a classified Government lab environment. Work with a small dynamic software development team to upgrade, enhance and maintain existing communications application that can be integrated on different Software Defined Radio (SDR) hardware platforms. Looking for a highly motivated, self-starter individual who is mission focus and have good problem solving skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to : * Determine and define project scope and objectives. * Responsible for leading engineering projects from concept to implementation with a focus on maintaining system operations, design of modifications, and installation of mission equipment payloads (MEP). * Will oversee engineering change proposals (ECPs), manage subcontractor activities, and interact with the government customer as needed. * Coordinate test readiness reviews (TRRs) and plan resources for ground/flight testing events. * Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards. * Resolve issues. * Responsible for supporting configuration management efforts for multiple aircraft configurations. * Technical expertise will be utilized to support all functions of the program management office (PMO) i.e., contracts, configuration management, logistics. * Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders. * Oversee software development, implementation and sustainment process ensuring end item software meets all requirement. * Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner. * Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements. * Identify potential risks to project schedule, scope, and cost; implement effective mitigating steps to reduce risk. * Coordinate with Program Manager to develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan utilizing Microsoft Project. * Provide technical evaluations for proposals. * Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution. * Monitor progress and adjust as needed. * Complete audits and identify trends to determine system improvements and implement change where necessary. Requirements Minimum Requirements Knowledge and Skills * Percentage of Travel Required: 10% for CONUS * At least 3 or more years of full-time professional experience as a Systems Enginee r * Experience conducting the systematic translation of product requirements into total systems solutions that adhere to technical, schedule, and cost constraints * Ability to define systems processes, interfaces and architectures including design and reverse engineering where it is necessary * Experience performing systems integration of software and hardware solutions * Experience developing design documentation including hardware and software architectural, functional, and interface descriptions. * Experience with production of technical papers and technical presentations Education * The minimum level of education required is: High School Diploma Desired Requirements * Engineering experience working with unmanned aircraft or ground robotics systems, military tactical data links, radio communications technologies , and networking hardware and software * Familiarity with requirements database programs * Bachelor''s degree in Engineering or other technical discipline * Secret Security Clearance Other Qualifications * Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills * Must be a US citizen Company Policy MAG Aerospace (MAG) is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and is committed to Diversity and Inclusion.
