The division develops appropriate synergies and support to business units to provide service quality, strategic planning, and guidance on technology systems and related initiatives. The division manages and supports new IT initiatives and works in coordination with DPI business units while adhering to supporting standards and procedures developed by the agency and the Department of Information Technology (DlT) related to system development, procurement, and oversight. The coordination extends to DPI internal customers as well as Public School Units (PSUs) that use these services.Business plan, design, examine, analyze, develop, implement, administer, and monitor business and program processes, operation systems, and efficient business and financial systems for a large division of an agency or at the agency level. Positions evaluate business and program application systems'' functionality to identify gaps, and calculate solutions to improve business operations. Positions design business and program systems solutions by identifying and evaluating options, resolving solution issues, serving as a liaison between the business and the project team to improve productivity, and developing and delivering training. Work at this level may involve process improvement through automation of processes and implementation and management of key computer applications. Positions apply project management methodology. Positions in this class develop expertise in one or several business areas and their integration points and contribute to strategic planning of systems and technology directions.THIS IS A TIME LIMITED POSITION, Federally-Funded (Expires September 30, 2024)This position will perform project management work involving planning and coordinating of ESSER III-funded information technology projects related to digital learning resources and educational management tools.Note: To receive credit for your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the State of North Carolina application in the Education and Work Experience sections of the application form. Ability to assist and participate in stakeholder sessions.* Ability to interact as a team member on a project team or ability to manage a project task or small- scope project.* Ability to identify, clarify, and select appropriate tools, data, and analysis techniques to diagnose problems and develop solutions.MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES:Bachelor''s degree in Education, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in IT project management or technical project management related work. Experience working in K-12 environments or deep knowledge of K-12 schools is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.Knowledge of Project Management process, procedures, documentation, checklists, and reporting criteria as well as project management related IT standards and software is essential. Conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation skills; and excellent written and oral communication skills preferred.NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS:* Valid NC Driver''s License.
