We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join a dynamic program in Northern Virginia. Position Title: Systems Engineer Position Location: McLean, VA; Reston, VA; Herndon, VA; Chantilly, VA Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ FSP Polygraph Position Description: Provide identification and fixing of problems within existing systems, design and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems Participate in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems Understanding the needs of the customers and realities of commercially available IT products and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the development team Experience as a systems engineer on one or more IT platforms Solid technical background with a focus on IT systems Skill areas include Telecommunication (TCP.IP, OIS/CMIP/X25), operating systems (Windows, UNIX, LINUX), database/DBMS (oracle, access, Sybase) and applications (Tivoli, Peoplesoft) are required Familiarity with ITIL, SEI/CMM desirable Requirements: In-depth networking experience Experience with Cisco, Arista and F5 Load Balancer Experience with Network Configurations Knowledge of Aruba, BigSwitch, Plexxi, HPE Ntwks Must have good writing skills to help with security documentation as well as SOPs Must currently have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with Poly One of the following DoD approved certifications is required to meet the category/level IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement for this position: Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP+ CE, GCIH, GCED, CCNP Security, CySA+, or GICSP. NOTE: the certification requirement must be completed before an individual can join the task. Must be available for on-call support. Must be open to the possibility of travel (CONUS & OCONUS), anticipate less than 5%. A Bachelor''s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience. OR A High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general systems engineering experience (any process area). OR An Associate''s degree in a Qualified field plus twelve (12) years f general system engineering experience (any process area). OR A Master''s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience. OR A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience. Examples of Qualified Engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.
