12 News, the TEGNA NBC affiliate in Phoenix, is looking for an engaging, innovative, and experienced weekend morning anchor/reporter/multi-skilled journalist to join our award-winning news team. We are not just looking for an anchor to present the news from behind a desk, but a leader who can help shape the future of local news in the 5th largest major city in the country. A successful candidate will foster a strong sense of purpose to continuing 12 News'' commitment to serving our community. This candidate will also have strong writing skills, authentic energy, and command of the content.Responsibilities:* You will be asked to lead, on and off camera.* On the air, you will deliver everything from breaking news to lighter moments in a conversational style, either from the studio or live in the field.* Contribute to 12 News content coverage across broadcast, digital, and our social channels* Contribute to 12 News'' special coverage of breaking news, and major events (Election Day, Super Bowl), and station initiatives (Turkey Tuesday, Summer of a Million Meals)Job Requirements:Requirements:* 5+ years news anchor/reporter/MSJ experience in medium or large market* Journalism/Communication or related degree* Proven news judgment and understanding of the tenets of professional journalism* Ability to write compelling copy and tell engaging stories across platforms* Understanding of current content gathering and production techniques* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment* Bilingual or proven specialty reporting beat a plus* Ability to work various shifts as needed* Travel: Occasionally: 10-25%* Work Environment Set: Outdoors: performed in various outdoor environmental conditions* Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.About TEGNATEGNA Inc.
