Job DescriptionSummary The Project Engineer provides technical leadership for the design, development, production, test of Software applications. Applies mature engineering knowledge and planning. Fosters the development of a common vision, provides technical direction and priorities; clarifies roles and responsibilities within the team. Acts as technical link between CAE and customer. The candidate will work within a team to build high performance, cloud based visualization and dissemination services based on high fidelity geospatial data sources. Responsible for arranging and directing technical activities of software development programs, coordinates engineering activities across the team.Ensures that developed products meets contractual requirementsImplements corrective measures issues that are not compliant to requirementsAuthors, coordinates and leads presentations of formal reviews with customers as requiredProvides support for Program Managers on all technical matters. Act as the focal point for all customer technical matters with hands on solutions to hardware and software problems.Assign project team to specific tasks based on project requirementWorks with the system engineering team to develop the system architecture and documentation for the projectWorks with the team to develop Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates - Firm Fixed Price cost estimates - Technical Specifications and reviews - Responses to Request for Proposal (RFP) - Technical supervision and assessment of sub-contracted effortsUndertakes independent studies, analysis, interpretations and conclusionsQualifications and Education Requirements BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, engineering or related fieldMinimum of 10 years work experience with a minimum of 5 years of team leadership experienceExperience leading software teams using Agile development methodology4 years of Geospatial Systems experienceExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExperience using Microsoft Office Products such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.SKILLS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE CONSIDERED A PLUS Experience writing C++, C, Java, or JavaScriptExperience with Angular JS, Node, Ext.jsExperience writing Ruby on RailsExperience writing Python ScriptsExperience using OpenGL or WebGLExperience working with service-based architecturesExperience with cloud environments such as AWS or AzureIAT Level 2 Certification (e.g. Security +)Experience with GDAL, GeoServer, OpenLayers or ESRI APIsExperience with OGC Standards such as WMS, WFS, WPS, WCS, GeoPackage, 3D Tiles, IS3, or CDBExperience with Presagis Products such as Terra Vista or CreatorExperience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, XML, XSLT, and JSONExperience with development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or TSPModeling and simulation technologies such as SE Core CVEM, AVCATT, CCTT, JCATS, JTLS, MTWS, MUSE, VBS2, VBS3, CACCTUS, JSAF, OneSAF, JLCCTCExperience with gaming technologies such as Unity 3D, Epic Unreal OBJ, FBX, Improbable SpatialOS, and similar capabilitiesSecurity Responsibilities Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
