Test Engineer, Basic with Security Clearance

Overview Axient is seeking Test Engineer, Basic to support our customer in Huntsville, AL. Your typical day - Our MDA engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities at Redstone Arsenal. Redstone is located in Huntsville, Alabama, otherwise known as ''Rocket City.'' Huntsville is the hub of missile and space research and development. You will collaborate with other missile defense experts - military, government civilians, and contractors from Axient and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development, analysis and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems. MDA launches more large missile / rocket systems than almost any entity in the world. You will be part of the team that conducts successful intercepts of target missiles by one of our Missile Defense System (MDS) weapon systems. What are your specific duties? The Test Engineer candidate brings the necessary knowledge and technical skills to support MDA''s Test Directorate in all aspects of ground and flight pre-mission analysis and data production. The candidate will optimize missile threat and interceptor trajectory data to perform quantitative safety and risk analyses of flight / ground test designs to ensure ballistic missile tests are capable of meeting test objectives and safety risk parameters. The candidate will develop tools, algorithms and models to facilitate test feasibility analysis and assessments. Furthermore, the candidate will schedule, participate in, and present analysis at working group meetings, peer reviews and other technical meetings . Qualifications What knowledge and skills will help you be a successful Analyst? Required Skills and Experience: * BS degree in an engineering field * Familiarity with any of the following tools/languages: MATLAB/SIMULINK, Python, SQL, C++, Java, HTML, etc... * Capable of providing test engineering support on complex system-level developmental and operational test events in the flight, HWIL, and/or operational environments * Capable of assisting with implementing system testing, component testing, and qualification testing * Possesses basic technical and theoretical knowledge of the DoD principles of developmental and operational testing and the verification and validation activities of the engineering ''V'' * Follows established procedures to solve test planning, integration, execution, and analysis problems * Able to think critically and solve problems * Strong oral and written communications skills and be comfortable communicating to the customer and senior management * Self-motivated, with the ability to make proper, timely decisions and recommendations * Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Highly Desirable Skills and Experience: * Experience with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organization, MDA''s Missile Defense System * Proficient with: MATLAB/SIMULINK, SQL, C++, Java, Python, HTML, etc... * Modeling and Simulation experience * Ability to communicate detailed technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel and senior leaders Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols
