Position Requirements Security Clearance: Secret Clearance preferred; Applicant must have the ability to procure a Secret Clearance Degree: Bachelors Degree Field: Engineering or Physical Science Experience: 15 years developing and qualifying aerospace hardware using the latest analytical techniques Illustrative Assignments Shall provide engineering support in the area of Structural Dynamics caused by vehicle loads. Shall design and analyze mechanical structures for stresses caused by vibration, shock and thermal loads. Shall prepare models for submission to the launch vehicle contractor for coupled loads analysis. Shall provide expertise while performing vibration and shock testing. Shall provide expertise while reviewing vibration and shock test data. Shall resolve technical problems as they arise, provide engineering solutions based on calculations and test, and interface with the many complex technical disciplines, such as thermal, electrical, and structural to satisfy spacecraft level objectives. Shall analyze and design assemblies involving temperatures ranging from that of liquid helium to substantially above ambient temperature. Shall plan and conduct modal analyses of structural components and systems using advanced digital signal processing equipment. Shall perform analysis for mechanics of materials, metal fatigue, and structural design of aerospace and space hardware as required by specific task assignment. Shall use appropriate computer programs required for his or her area of expertise.
