Vendor software and equipment is utilized to generate postage, mailing and/or shipping labels. Adherence to postal and/or parcel carrier requirements is expected. This position also picks and packs orders to support daily order fulfillment needs and assists with internal logistics activities such as messenger, receiving, and delivery operator. Processors provide subject matter expertise on mailing and shipping to both internal customers and the field.Job DescriptionJob Duties and Responsibilities* Sort and apply postage, mailing, and/or shipping labels to product within the agreed upon service levels. This work is generated by various departments of the organization and may require entering specific department identification numbers and job names into software for chargeback (if applicable). Perform best practices such as fanning mail or reviewing order information to ensure incomplete addresses and unsealed envelopes are identified, pulled and manually handled prior to sending to avoid delays in delivery.* Pick, pack, and ship supply orders, warehouse requisitions, and specials with accuracy and timeliness. Prepare packages for shipment using materials providing the most cost effective and sturdy method. Mail and/or ships packages using guidelines for different weights, services and destinations. Identifies chargebacks as required. Restocks supplies on daily basis.* Understand and identify address quality concerns and work with appropriate resources to remedy. Maximize efficiency and quality by using tools and resources to minimize manual intervention and maximize the most cost effective solution.* Assist with coordinating and handling specific mailing and/or shipping requests identified by internal business areas, partners, or the field. Determines accurate and cost effective envelope and packaging solutions for various pieces that are unique in size, shape and weight, utilizing vendor resources when appropriate. Provide general mailing and shipping guidance.* Utilizes CI tools to eliminate waste and optimize processes in daily operations and incorporates practices into daily routine to create and maintain a productive work environment.Required Job Qualifications* High school education/GED required.* Prior experience with general warehousing and or/distribution terminology and practices preferred.* Basic understanding of United States Postal Service mailing standards and related pricing structure preferred.* Experience with parcel shipping vendors and service level options preferred.* Strong PC, keyboarding, and typing skills. Computer skills to operate vendor software to create mailing and/or shipping labels.Other Critical Factors* Ability to obtain formal training certification for operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, high reach stock selector, industrial shredder, etc.* Requires extended periods of walking and standing, reaching with arms and hands; stooping, kneeling, crouching; ability to lift 40 pounds and push/pull skids of material. Physical ability to stand, walk, squat, reach, sit, bend and count for long periods of time. High degree of hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.* Comply with established safety standards and wear personal protective equipment as required.* Ability to handle multiple tasks while experiencing frequent interruptions.
