The MITRE Corporation''s Electronic Systems Innovation Center is seeking a Senior Principal Hardware Anti-Tamper Engineer Strategist to provide the vision and strategy for applying electronic security and Anti-Tamper technology at MITRE to create solutions for a safer world. The Anti-Tamper Engineer Strategist will be a technical and business leader for several internal and external efforts in the design, prototyping, vulnerability analysis, and demonstration of secure tamper-resistant electronics systems. Department Summary: The Electronic Systems Innovation Center is a leader in applying cutting edge technologies to solve the Nation''s toughest problems. The Electronic Systems Development and Embedded Security department specializes in prototyping and analyzing the next-generation systems for our sponsors to reduce risk in Programs of Record, bring innovative new solutions to solve challenges of national importance while protecting critical program information, and provide subject matter expertise with hands-on experience. Job Responsibilities: This position will work across MITRE projects, the United States Government, academia, and industrial partners in driving the development and adoption of secure electronics and Anti-Tamper solutions. The Technical Strategist will be responsible for creating and sustaining external partnerships to further the research and adoption of Anti-Tamper technology and other secure solutions for the United States Government, critical infrastructure, and other systems. Candidates should have strong technical background and research experience in electronics hardware design and prototyping, anti-tamper and reverse engineering, and embedded systems design and security. Candidates should also have demonstrated experience with project technical leadership, federal government policy and regulations, academic and government research activities, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills. Required Qualifications: * This requisition requires the candidate to have an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and the ability to participate in classified discussions at the Bedford campus secure facilities as needed.* M.S. or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field* Experience developing strategies and roadmaps for electronic system security* Experience with US government electronic systems, electronic security organizations, and relevant Programs-of-Record* Ability to work with customers to understand their use cases and formulate a path forward, requires excellent oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences* Ability to build consensus and partnerships across industry, academia, and government to advance state of the art in microelectronics systems and address issues of national impact* Expertise in the design of secure microelectronic components, including digital design, FPGA design, and embedded software architecture and development* Expertise in electronic systems security (attacks and countermeasures) including tampering, invasive and non-invasive attacks, reverse engineering, and vulnerability discovery at all levels of implementation-integrated circuits, hardware, and software* Expertise in reverse engineering and vulnerability discovery of integrated circuits, hardware, and software* Experience identifying and applying emerging technologies to embedded security applications within MITRE''s work program* Experience with identifying and advocating for critical lab investments* Experience identifying and pursuing research areas for microelectronics and embedded systems security* Experience developing, attracting, and retaining talent in microelectronics and secure electronics* Experience fostering an environment and culture of innovation, technical leadership, collaboration, camaraderie, and technical quality* Experience leading teams developing or evaluating secure embedded systems* Willingness/passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers PreferredQualifications: * Domain-specific expertise and/or related education* Additional years of experience* Additional clearances in related fields* Additional skills, tools, or programs* Experience with secure design for commercial programmable SoCs and FPGAs* Experience applying novel Anti-Tamper techniques This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): Top Secret/SCI This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Top Secret/SCI Subject to all federal and state laws, rules and regulations, MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
