Under general supervision, provides care for pregnant and post-partum adolescent and adult patients. Education Certified Nurse Midwife Program OR Certified Nurse Practitioner Program OR Physician Assistant Program Experience OB experience preferred Skills A high level of analytical ability required in order to assess patients and implement appropriate intervention. Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with staff, physicians, patients, and family members. Able to perform as Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room. Licensures, Certifications Current certification with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Certified Nurse Midwife OR Certified Womens Health or Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner OR Licensed Physician Assistant Completion of Healthcare Provider CPR course. Valid agreement with Chairman of dept and appropriate Board. Physical Requirements Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to eighty percent of work time in performing duties and dealing with patients and families often during stressful situations. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods. Working Conditions Normal patient care environment. Frequently exposed to adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities. Exposure to communicable disease.
