Description Description The Amazon Cobranded Credit Cards team is responsible for developing the platform and applications used to introduce new and innovative payment methods to customers as well as support Amazon''s global CoBrand and Private label credit cards along with the world''s largest rewards catalog, Shop with Points. We are an agile team, moving quickly in collaboration with our business to bring new features to millions of Amazon customers while having fun and filing new inventions along the way. an experienced Front End Engineer who loves hands-on work, to help us build scalable front-end customer experience features. Our projects focus on enabling customers to apply for, and use various payment methods while taking advantage of financial offers and incentives that increase customer engagement and delight. We innovate on behalf of our customers by partnering with business, financial partners and internal teams in Amazon.Basic Qualifications 2+ years of professional non-internship experience with front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSSBachelor''s degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of relevant work experienceSkilled in developing rich applications using HTML5, Javascript, CSS and modern web technologiesProficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C++, C, Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP etc.Proficiency in developing front-end software, with experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks (React, Angular etc.)Strong problem solving and Computer Science fundamentals especially data structures and algorithmsAbility to explore, dive deep and quickly ramp up on technical stacks, frameworks and programming languagesExperience with writing integration and unit tests using front end technologiesExcellent web applications design and development skillsKnowledge of potential front end security risks such as persistent/ reflected XSS and CSRFProven ability to self-manage, prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment; proven ability to work autonomously or with little guidancePreferred Qualifications Understands design patterns (i.e. MVC, MVP and MVVM) and their respective trade-offsUnderstands Javascript concepts such as closures, prototypical inheritance and promisesKnowledge of engineering and operational excellence best practicesUnderstands how to optimize the delivery of code and assets (e.g., images, fonts) to a browser or device (e.g., lazy loading assets, using CDNs, caching, compression, etc.)Understands how to be efficient with resource usage (e.g., application impact on memory and CPU, caches appropriately, respectful of customer''s devices, etc.)Knows how to instrument software with real user metrics to reflect the customer experienceExperience building scalable front-end infrastructure software for commercial online services.
