If these qualities describe you, we''d love for you to join Ingevity!How you will impact Ingevity:Understand the foundation of product quality evaluation and controlProvide reports and feedback on the standards of the quality of the product and coordinates with area managers, supervisors, and engineers to look for the right plan of action to improve quality control, contain defects, and enhance the reliability and performance of the processManage multiple quality improvement projects. Develop and justify capital project requests as related to quality control or assurance improvementsSupport continuous improvement activities and help drive the organization towards more efficient and effective processes and systemsDevelop, communicate and track quality standards and expectations to internal employees, external suppliers, and external customers, as required. Conduct statistical analysis of data, develop conclusions and recommendations for action, communicate results, and lead corrective action efforts. Develop new methods and processes to improve quality and reduce waste. Utilize problem solving skills, when needed, to address quality issues or other gaps in the facilityEnsures product compliance with current specifications and requirements.Support quality audits (internal or external) and help forge effective corrective actions.Develop measurement systems and ensure effectiveness of the system. Review data and take corrective action or develop preventative measures. Manage suspect material (block stock) and material movements for material changes needed based on quality, inventory, or trial work.Lead cross functional teams to identify and verify quality requirements and take corrective/preventative actions, as necessary. Responsible for supplier development efforts, as required.Other duties as assignedWhat you need to succeed:Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering or technical degree required.5+ years Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing or production environment required. 10 years experience preferredDiligent and engaged safety participant to achieve zero personal and process safety incidents.Knowledge of IATF/ISO Quality programs required. Knowledge of RC systems preferred.Expert knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications required.Working knowledge of SPC, DOE, GDT, Metrology, and Gage Calibration required.Exposure to lean manufacturing technology and problem-solving skills required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Communicate effectively (written and verbal) to interface with customers and suppliers. Ability to host and facilitate improvement meetings and provide formal presentations.Quality Engineer Certification (ASQ) or equivalent course work preferred.Certification in IATF16949/ISO9001 as internal or lead auditor preferred. Proficiency in SAP, Proficy, PI, Minitab, or comparable ERP or data systems preferred. Six-sigma green or black belt certification preferred.The role is eligible for relocation assistance to Covington, VA.This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
