Job Description

This position is contingent upon contract award. Valiant is seeking to hire an Advanced Cyber Auditor to perform vulnerability assessments on Department of Defense communications systems to identify vulnerabilities in critical systems. Advanced Cyber Auditors are responsible for providing expert analysis and assessment of critical networks using the Defense Threat Reduction Agency''s (DTRA) mobile Computer Network Defense/Exploitation (CND/E) Toolkit. DTRA''s mobile toolkit consists of specialized security toolsets which perform on-demand network and vulnerability assessments, digital forensics, finger printing, network traffic analysis, full packet capture and session replay, security information, and event management for real-time analysis of correlated data captures. RESPONSIBILITIES • Participate in vulnerability assessments as outlined above. • Provide expert analysis and assessment of critical networks using DTRA''s mobile CND/E Toolkit. DTRA''s mobile toolkit consists of specialized security toolsets which perform on-demand network and vulnerability assessments, digital forensics, finger printing, network traffic analysis, full packet capture and session replay, security information, and event management for real-time analysis of correlated data captures. • Auditors shall possess expert knowledge in the following areas: • Performance of full packet capture of network data traffic with COTS or open-source tools. • Inspection of data traffic for non-authorized activity or any form of network exploitation and compromise using a variety of network security sensor applications. • Utilization of network modeling software. • Conduct of configuration compliance / vulnerability scanning. • Analysis of data traffic results and presentation of findings in a clear and concise manner. • Performance of operation and maintenance support on MA Cyber systems and tools as required. • Assist with post-event activities as required, including after action reviews, hot washes, and after-action reports. • Must possess an active TS/SCI Top Secret clearance. • Bachelor of Science degree in computer networks, cybersecurity or related major. In lieu of a degree, commensurate experience may be substituted. • Must possess a current Department of Defense Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II and current Department of Defense Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) Auditor certifications. • At a minimum, must satisfy the DoD IAT Level II and CSSP Auditor certifications, the candidate must have successfully completed at least one course from each of these categories: o IAT Level II CCNA Security CySA+ (CSA+) GICSP GSEC Security+ CE CND SSCP o CSSP Auditor CEH CySA+ (CSA+) CISA GSNA CFR PenTest • Senior-level knowledge of computer networks, industrial control systems, radio, wireless, and other communication systems. • Significant experience working hands-on with computer network modeling software and computer network vulnerability/compliance analysis software. • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of tools. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a high degree for attention to detail. • Ability to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under deadlines. • Excellent reasoning, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to interact with employees from other departments or groups. • Must be capable of transporting and lifting 40-pound boxes of documents and equipment. • Must be able to travel unaccompanied to foreign and domestic locations. • Place of performance: Lorton, Virginia • Travel: All positions on an assessment team are deployable and must: Be able to travel on short notice, work non-standard hours and take on-call duty. • Have (or obtain) a passport. • Travel is 25% or greater and includes travel to national and international locations.
