Job Summary The Systems Performance, Estimation, and Algorithms Department (SPEAD) performs concept development, systems engineering, architecture analysis, algorithm development and evaluation support for national security space customers. SPEAD efforts are focused on Radar, Electro-Optical (EO) and Infrared (IR) sensors in support of space domain awareness (SDA), space protection and security, Electronic Warfare (EW), and missile warning/missile tracking (MW/MT) missions. The selected candidate will provide space domain analytical support, algorithm development and operations-focused software engineering, and modeling and simulation (M&S) analysis for space surveillance systems, space protection and space threat susceptibility, vulnerability analysis and resiliency assessment to government customers in the area of SDA, space control, and battle management and C2 (BMC2). Candidate will interact directly with government customers as well as Aerospace program office personnel in the Colorado Springs area and collaborate closely with Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) and program office personnel in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, and other locations. What You''ll Be Doing * Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of SDA, BMC2, space control, along with development and use of models for SDA analysis* Provide space domain awareness operations-focused algorithm development, evaluation, and M&S support for national security customers* Lead ETG teams in the development of algorithms and M&S capabilities for SDA, BMC2 and space control mission areas* Provide timely and relevant responses to national security customer questions through analysis efforts, and be able to produce high quality presentations which translate complex analytic results into simple concepts that can be understood at all levels* Provide independent assessments and lead studies with teams of analysts derived from the most capable government/FFRDC/SETA/contractor sources What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor''s degree in engineering, mathematics, science, computer science, or other technical discipline* Four or more years of relevant technical experience after a bachelor''s degree* Demonstrated experience in modeling, simulation, analysis, and/or algorithm development for space domain awareness and space security missions* Proficiency in one or more of the following computer languages/tools: Java, Python, Matlab, C++/C* Demonstrated technical leadership ability, with good interpersonal communication and briefing skills along with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with high level government, Aerospace, and contractor personnel* This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: * Active TS/SCI security clearance* Master''s degree in engineering, mathematics, science, computer science, or other technical discipline, and/or demonstrated experience within the BMC2, SDA, or space control mission areas with at least eight years of applicable experience* Proficiency in Java and Python, Agile development, and software testing* Operational experience as an orbit analyst, space control operator, battle manager in the air, maritime, or missile domains (e.g. AWACS, AEGIS, etc.), or an Air Force weapons school graduate* Experience with, or understanding of, EW and/or passive RF collection modeling* Experience with space surveillance network sensor operations, or other Space Object Surveillance and Identification (SOSI) network sensor operations Grade-Based Pay Range (Min - Mid - Max)$67,573 - $117,940 - $168,307 Ways We Reward Our Employees During your interview process, our team will provide details of our industry-leading benefits.
