Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.THIS IS WHAT YOU''LL DO:* Build and manage a world class electrical engineering team with the charter of designing the power conversion, motor EM, filters and LV sense/control circuitry for differentiated light vehicle propulsion systems* Core competencies of the leader and team are electrical system modeling, power conversion design, schematic capture, critical components selection, PCBA layout fab and test* Lead/mentor the team through all development phases including concept, architecture, detailed design, simulation, fab, bringup, test, verification* Work closely with peer leaders in mechanical design, controls and embedded software* Facilitate roadmaps for key IC selection based on cost/capability, supply conditions, software toolchains, etc* Set the performance bar for the team in terms of innovation, engineering rigor, organization and execution* Play a strong role in vendor selection and management to ensure predictable and high quality execution of Rivian hardware designs* Recruit world class talent, develop team members, manage performance, conduct performance and compensation reviewsTHIS IS WHAT YOU''LL NEED:* 10+ year track record of detailed design and hardware validation of BLDC motor drives, inverters, or similar power conversion stages* 5+ years leading complex product design projects and managing indirect and direct reports* Strong engineering fundamentals in power conversion, electromagnetics, precision voltage and current sensing, motor control theory, etc* Pragmatic and focused on developing and shipping consumer product hardware* Professional accomplishments executing designs from clean sheet through protype, pilot builds and ultimately MP.
