Job Description

LinQuest is seeking a Programming Specialist - Principal to support the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) in Ft. Huachuca, AZ. The Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) is responsible for the oversight of all DISA test and evaluation (T&E) within DISA. The mission of the JITC labs at Fort Meade and Fort Huachuca is to enable the successful transition of joint acquisition IT systems from developmental testing to fielding through early and continuous involvement in the program life cycle. Duties and Responsibilities: * Performs software development and maintenance of applications and systems for the organization.* Plans and coordinates all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of the organization''s applications.* Conducts software coding, testing, debugging, and installation of an organization''s application systems. Documents requirements for databases, applications, and systems.* Works closely with customers to document current operating procedures and support their projected operational needs.* Consults with end users to test and debug applications.* May serve as an expert in all aspects of software design, development, and maintenance and may support multiple development teams and systems.* Responsible for developing, distributing, supporting, enforcing, and integrating best practices and technology standards across the organization.* Researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of products and systems.* Allocates programming team resources and sets delivery schedule to meet client requirements. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.* Assists in the formulation of procedures and best practices for users of applications and systems.* This labor category may include personnel who provide computer-programming support in areas where these capabilities may be gained through extensive on-the-job experience, specialized formal Government training, or institutional training and certification.* On-the-job experience must include programming efforts with associated computer languages.* Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the IT field''s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.* Performs a variety of complex tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.* Leads and directs the work of others.* Typically reports to department management or executive.* May provide consultation on complex projects and be a top-level contributor/specialist in their department.* Must be an expert at problem solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations to department management.Required Experience/Skills: * 8+ years of relevant experience* Requires a Master''s degree; or a Bachelor''s degree and at least 6 years of experience; or an Associate''s degree and at least 8 years of experience.* Acceptable degree specialties include but are not limited to the following: Information Technology, Mathematics, Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, and various engineering and science disciplines.* Additional certifications (other than those required for the position) in the area of specialization be substituted for experience but varies by certification. One year of experience can be substituted by 15 semester hours completed towards a Bachelor''s or Master''s degree.
