JobManager, AccountingPosition summaryThe Accounting and Policy Manager reports to the Accounting and Policy Senior Manager, supporting the Chief Accounting Officer and U.S. Controllership across a range of accounting topics and issues. The Manager will work closely with the Finance & Administration organization and other firm Business and Enabling Areas to research, develop, socialize and implement Accounting Policies for the U.S. Firms. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for the creation and oversight of U.S. Firms'' accounting policies and controls, operating procedures and training materials.The ideal candidate for this position should have experience with both technical accounting topics as well as consultative skills to take complex and technical topics and deliver them in easily understandable terms. An operational mindset combined with strategic thinking, flexibility and executive presence are critical qualifications for this role. Seeking a candidate that holds self and others accountable for ensuring that results are achieved on time; takes action beyond formal job responsibility and sets high expectation for self.Duties & Responsibilities:Support U.S. Controllership by understanding the nature of transactions and issues and their interaction with existing policies, creating new policies to apply accounting standards, and maintaining/recertifying existing accounting policiesServe as an internal consultant, providing guidance and clarification to stakeholders as policy questions arise to support understanding of and compliance with accounting policyOversee and manage the company''s accounting policies to maintain relevance to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as the U.S. Firms grows and evolvesResearch technical accounting topics and document findings to support new policy creation and developmentCollaborate Finance & Administration and other firm Business and Enabling Areas to understand current practice and processes; capture the impact of proposed policy changesAnalyze financial results/impacts of policy adoption to anticipate policy impactsConsider system functionality and evaluate technology enhancements to support policy processes and key controlsDevelop executive summaries and presentations to socialize policy proposals; present policy proposals to key business stakeholders including Business and Enabling Area leadershipSpearhead the implementation of new accounting policies and standards while working with cross-functional teamsSupport the implementation of key policy controls and processes as applicableOversee and facilitate training on relevant accounting topics and policy updatesManage policy communications including the oversight of the Accounting Policy repositoryOversee and coordinates the flow of information into the general ledger ensuring compliance with firm policies and internal controls, as neededAdditional ad hoc projects, as neededRequired Technical SkillsEducation & Experience: Bachelor''s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline preferred; Minimum of 5 years of related experienceStrong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to research complex accounting and auditing issuesRequired Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements: CPA or MBA PreferredStrong written and verbal communication skills are required. The applicant must possess strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of the organization to gather support for recommendationsPossess analytical skills with the ability to solve problemsExcellent power point capabilities with the ability to create compelling presentations and gather stakeholder support for recommendations; able to ''tell the story''Ability to work with virtual teams and across geographic and cultural boundaries is required.For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95070 to $175080.You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.EA_ExpHire
