This position works closely with engineering, product managers and other subject matter experts to create, refine, and clarify documentation for all solutions, products and services.Duties and Responsibilities* Create and maintain hardware, software, and firmware documentation* Manage the entire documentation suite and review process* Interview development teams and subject matter experts to gather relevant data* Develop in-depth understanding of complex subject matter* Standardize existing documentation to ensure consistency with branding and business guidelines* Manage multiple projects, monitor progress and quality, and ensure schedule requirements are met* Assist lead tech writer and manager of educational services with governing and maintaining customer-facing, online knowledge base* Identify and execute writing assignments according to business needs.Skills and ExperienceRequired:* Bachelor''s Degree in an engineering / technology related discipline.* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer or in a related role.* High level of knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Visio.* Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and deadlines.* Ability to work in an independent manner utilizing sound judgment to make decisions.* Must have solid command of English language and its proper use in customer-oriented, technical documentation.* Excellent interpersonal skills.Preferred:* Competence in Adobe FrameMaker, both structured and unstructured.* Familiarity with InDesign, RoboHelp, Photoshop, and other Adobe products.* Experience in the electrical, gas, and/or water utility industry.* Multi-language skills [Spanish/French preferred].Physical Demands:* Normal Office activities.* Frequent sitting and standing.* Negligible travel.EducationBachelors Degree in Engineering GeneralHubbell Incorporated, its subsidiaries and affiliates, is an EO Employer AA: M/F/Veteran/Disability.
