This is done through comprehensive training, growth programs, and personalized development plans.* Serving veterans is very rewarding, our goal is to expedite their claim in order to assist them with obtaining their e help us serve Americas Heroes!Job Summary:Under general supervision, the Health Information Management (HIM) Technician, Senior is responsible foridentifying, organizing, and indexing pertinent electronic records (e.g. military records, diagnostic test results,physician''s notes, etc.) by medical specialty and/or contentions using required technology. This position reviewshigh volumes of confidential electronic files for the presence of required documents and escalatesincomplete/incorrect records in accordance with policies and procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Read, examine, analyze, and identify all electronic civilian, industrial, and military documentation relativeto occupational, medical, and/or psychological conditions listed by claimants; utilize PDF software to sortand tab records in the appropriate order for the physicians to review for exams* Assess listed medical or psychological conditions, including all related conditions or triggers, andelectronically index each according to their medical specialty as appropriate* Be accountable for the quality, timeliness, and thorough review of electronic files; consistently meet theproductivity and quality expectations for the position* Prioritize workloads to ensure expedited cases are processed within defined timelines* Responsible for retrieving, organizing, and saving electronic updates and directives related to workflowprocesses; identify, resolve, or escalate workflow issues to appropriate team members for prompt andeffective resolution* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assignedCompetencies:* Working knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, medical conditions, and body systems* Familiarity with medical documents, such as, but not limited to diagnostic forms, treatment records,progress notes, and medical evaluations* Knowledge and understanding of EMR and HIPAA* Ability to focus on complex medical files* Ability to be self-disciplined to work independently, as well as, in a team environment* Ability to be self-motivated to achieve productivity and quality objectives* Ability to maintain medical records confidentiality at all times through proper use of computer passwords,maintenance of secured files, and adherence to HIPAA policies* Ability to adjust to constant changing environment* Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and specific familiarity with the Windows XP operating system,Internet Explorer Browser, and PDF document creation software* Knowledge and familiarity with military terminology and documents a plusEducation and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)* High School diploma, or equivalent (GED); AA/AS preferred* 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare records environment* Medical Records or related certification is a plus* Maintain active VA accounts security clearanceAverage Hourly for Level I = $15.25Average Hourly for Level II = $16.15NOTE: This position has multiple levels; candidates will be ''leveled in'' based on years of experience at time of hire.QTC Management Inc. is a VEVRAA Federal contractor and an Equal Opportunity Employer.
