Sr Data Engineer SME

Sr. Data Engineer Chicago, IL (Locals Only) Contract to Hire // FullTime Employment Role Overview: We are looking for a go getter person who can define: o Analytic strategies to meet the demands of business requirements o Technical requirements of the analytic solutions o Data requirements of the analytic solution processes ? The person will be part of the Data Science team for a major Insurance client. He/ She will work with different stakeholders as SME for data engineering ? Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; often needs to develop new solutions ? A typical work day will involve working with stakeholders and individual contributor. ? A suitable candidate should have 5-8 years of experience in a similar role and should possess a go -getter attitude. He/ She should be able to deal with ambiguity. ? Experience in insurance is preferred but not mandatory. Key Responsibilities & Skillsets: o 8+ years of experience in analytics, Oracle, ETL, Python and associated data engineering jobs. o Experience with AWS services like Glue, Lambda, EMR, Redshift, RDS o Excellent communication & presentation skills o Experience in managing Python codes and collaborating with customer on model evolution o Good knowledge of database management and SQL, Python (expertise), Good to have- Hadoop/Spark, HIVE ? Superior analytical and problem solving skills ? Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverable with minimal or no supervision ? Good communication skill for client interaction ? Data Management Skill Sets: o Ability to understand data models and identify ETL optimization opportunities.
