The Director, Nursing is a registered nurse who has responsibility and authority to provide effective, high quality patient care in the assigned nursing areas. The Director oversees the clinical functions of all staff in the assigned areas. The Director portrays qualities of flexibility, compatibility, good judgment, critical thinking skills, and provides structure and consistency in the management style. This position encompasses multiple responsibilities and is accountable for the overall care of the patient in coordination with all members of the health care team.Education, Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrates leadership abilities. Maintains good working relationships with other members of the medical and nursing staff.Required Length and Type of ExperienceMinimum five years experience in nursing services.Three years supervisory management experience required.Required Licensure or CertificationLicensed and current registration as professional nurse in the State of Ohio. BSN or Bachelor''s in a health-related field required, BCLS, required.Member of AORN and CNOR preferred.Required Physical and Environmental DemandsMaintains good physical/emotional well-being and a positive attitude. Possesses personal qualifications of good judgment and an ability to relate to others effectively. Recognizes the importance of setting a good example for others.
