Firmware Test Execution Engineer

Job Title: Firmware Test Execution Engineer Location: San Jose, CA Onsite: From Day1 As a Firmware Test Execution Engineer in the Solid State Drives (SSD) group, you will run automated and semi-automated testing to validate the firmware for Solid State Drives for the enterprise market. This position involves preparing test stations and software for running testing, launching automated testing, validating testing is running correctly, and reporting the testing that has been started. The testing is run daily to validate new firmware features that are under development and to validate existing firmware features. In this role, you will collect testing requests submitted by the Firmware and Firmware Test teams, prepare the test stations for testing, prioritize the testing requests, configure the testing stations pools, and start the requested testing. This position is a Swing shift position (3:00PM to 11:30PM) to accommodate testing requests submitted up to a 4:00PM deadline. Testing includes starting overnight test runs (Nightly testing) and multi-day test runs (Weekly testing). Your responsibilities will include: Configuring and maintaining test stations (Linux based) Generating test lists and configuring test pools based on testing requests Starting automated testing using proprietary tools Validating that automated testing has started correctly Reporting started testing via email and Confluence pages Successful candidates for this position will have: Experience with Linux and Windows Experience with Firmware testing Knowledge of IP networking Experience with documenting and reporting failures through a bug tracking system such as JIRA.
