Position Type: Administration with Certification/Assistant PrincipalDate Posted: 8/2/2022Location: Manchester Memorial High SchoolMinimum Qualifications and Requirements: Master''s Degree in Educational Administration as required for State Certification Minimum of three (3) years of classroom experience Certified educators who have taught students regardless of the setting are considered to have classroom teaching experience Excellent knowledge of special education law All minimum qualifications and requirements shall be met at the time of position posting NH Certification as Principal required. Special education related area and special education administration preferred Specific Core Function: Direct responsibility for management of building level programs and services for students with disabilities and students suspected of having disabilities. Responsibilities of the Position: Shall be directly responsible to the principal for general administration, supervision and other assigned responsibilities. Curriculum Development: assist the principal in the development and implementation of the curriculum. Facility Maintenance and Management: assist the principal in monitoring the proper care of the building and grounds. Assist the principal in the general supervision of the work of custodians in the building. Public Relations: assist the principal in communicating and interpreting school policies and practices to parents, students and the public. Administrative Reporting: assist the principal in the timely and accurate preparation of all cumulative records, registers and reports. Budget Administration: assist the principal in the preparation of the annual budget. Health Care Administration: assist the principal, in cooperation with the school nurse, in maintaining and enforcing immunization controls based on state laws and District policies. Staff Management: Certified: Assist the principal and the appropriate Central Office Administrators in the evaluation of the staff and in reporting this information to the appropriate Central Office Administrators and principal when requested. Will be involved in periodic classroom visitations and personal conferences with staff. Assist the principal and the appropriate Central Office Administrators in making appropriate assignment, promotion, renewal and non-renewal recommendations. Non-Certified: Assist the principal in making appropriate assignment, promotion, retention and dismissal recommendations to the appropriate supervisory personnel. Extracurricular Activity Administration: Assist the principal in the preparation of the calendar of events of the school and shall attend all meetings and activities related to the school as designated by the principal. Emergency Administration: Assist the principal in effectively managing all emergency situations, i.e., fires, bomb scares. Student Assignment Administration: Advise the principal on the promotion, retention, and placement of pupils. Student Personnel Management: As directed by the principal, shall be responsible for matters pertaining to student personnel management in accordance with the Code of Conduct, School Board Policies, school policies and federal and state laws. Communication Skills: Shall be responsible for effective written and oral communications with students, staff, parents, supervisory personnel and other constituents. School Climate: Shall assist the principal in promoting and maintaining a school climate which is conducive to effective teaching and learning. Personal Professional Development: Assume responsibility for personal and professional growth and development through current educational techniques including reading, coursework and professional activities. Staff Development: Responsible for reporting and monitoring student attendance. Other: Shall perform any other duties assigned by the principal in accordance with local School Board policies, school policies, state statutes and regulations of the State Board of Education. Shall also cooperate with all appropriate Central Office Administrators and project and program directors and other administrative personnel. Supervisory Responsibilities - Required Special Qualifications: Supervision shall be as specified in the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Principal. Essential Physical Abilities: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to communicate effectively. Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to review a wide variety of materials in electronic or hardcopy form. Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate a personal computer, telephone and related equipment.
