URUS Group has 25 operating companies in 14 countries, $400 million turnover, and employs approximately 2,000 people.Primary ObjectivePEAK is seeking a Livestock Specialist - Calf Care in Shawano, WI. This successful candidate would be responsible for the health and wellbeing of our bull calves, to ensure the greatest chance for genetic opportunities, minimize death, and reach desired rates of gain.Major Areas of Responsibility* Feed and bed calves as directed to attain desired growth rates* Watch for and report any signs of illness or abnormalities in calves.* Bottle feeding calves up to 90 days of age* Filling, dumping, and cleaning water buckets/automatic waterers* Manually cleaning pen and replacing bedding* Perform livestock care including feeding, cleaning, moving bulls, health testing, and veterinary treatments* Operate company vehicles, trucks, trailers, and farm equipment* Clean and maintain building, grounds, and equipmentQualifications* Comfortable working with large animals and experience working with calves* Previous livestock handling experience and experience detecting health and disease symptoms in cattle* Must have a valid driver''s license* Ability to work weekends and lift/carry up to 50 pounds* Ability to perform basic equipment and building maintenance repairs* Ability to follow instructions and detailed procedures* Ability to work on feet and stand for long periods of time* Keen sense of attention to safe working practices and strong awareness of surroundings* Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team environment as well as possess effective communication skills* Willingness to grow and develop both personally and professionally
