Test Technician | Gigafactory New York* Day and Night Shift available*THE ROLETesla is currently recruiting for a motivated and accomplished Engineering Test Technician to support the development, implementation and application of a wide variety of test and validation plans/methods with our engineering development team. In this role, you will have a broad scope of responsibility from creating electrical and mechanical test fixtures, to executing test plans and writing test reports.Shift Schedule:Days | B Shift -- every other Wednesday and every Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 7AM-7PM.Nights | C Shift -- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday from 7PM-7AM.RESPONSIBILITIES* Display a positive attitude and practice strong work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy and goals of Tesla.* Build, assemble and setup of test/validation equipment and fixtures.* Install electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic circuitry and controls or data circuits.* Installation and use of data acquisition equipment and other instrumentation.* Record and analyze test data.* Document and report on issues found during test and work closely with Test Engineering to address these.* Support the development of test/validation plans and methods that assure reliability, structural and other engineering targets are met by the component/system tested.* Maintain test/validation equipment.* Support other projects as needed by management as business needs change.REQUIREMENTS* Bachelors or Associates in Engineering or Technology (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Related) and/or equivalent working experience* Evidence of exceptional ability.* Low and High voltage/power experience preferred.* Demonstrated understanding of engineering and reliability fundamentals that includes electromagnetic interference.* Ability to operate and maintain a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and lab equipment that includes oscilloscopes, DMMs and HV power supplies. Machining and fabrication.* Strong experience with reading/ interpreting wiring and harness diagrams, electrical schematics and circuits. Proficiency utilizing Solidworks or AutoCAD.* Strong experience with wiring diagrams and harness drawings.* Experience in the use of a broad variety of test, control and data acquisition equipment and software (i.e. LabVIEW, Python) is a preferred.* Experience with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).* Strong communications skills with a positive attitude, eagerness to learn and ability to change direction quickly.* Experience with operation and repair of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.* Ability to lift 50lbs and travel up to 10% domestic and international.Tesla is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
