NOW OFFERING A $1000 SIGN ON BONUS!!!May Institute is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of children and youth (ages 2-21) diagnosed with autism and their families. As part of a team, you will learn innovative teaching skills and work directly with children and youth to teach them communication, social skills, play skills, daily living skills, and safety skills to help them lead full and independent lives. Instruction could occur in a child''s home, at school, at a May Institute center, or in other community settings depending on the needs of the individual. You may work 1:1 with a child or in small groups with multiple children. You will be trained in state-of-the-art instruction based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and receive supervision and support from an experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).Individuals currently certified as Registered Behavior Therapists (RBT) are preferred and paid a higher rate. If you do not have RBT certification, we will help you get it and increase your pay upon successful completion of certification.We have part-time positions (approx. 10-15 hours per week) & full-time positions (approx. 25 hours per week) available.This is an exciting opportunity to:* Implement individually designed skill acquisition and behavior management programs for children with autism or other developmental disabilities* Record and analyze data to track the progress and effectiveness of teaching programs* Use innovative software to effectively map the growth and progress of children* Learn teaching techniques based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis* Assist with and learn to conduct assessments* Receive supervision from experienced BCBAs to support your own professional development* Be an integral part of a clinical teamWe are looking for someone who:* Has a high school diploma or equivalent (Note: some of our programs require a Bachelor''s degree in certain fields to meet funder requirements)* Enjoys playing with children and has experience keeping them engaged for extended periods of time* Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and patience for children and families* Is comfortable working with children who may display behavior problems* Has interest in ABA, psychology, or special education and is looking to gain experience or pursue a graduate degree/career in this field* Has experience with or interest in working with children who have developmental disabilities* Is driven to understand each child''s unique needs and find effective means to help each them their potential* Has a valid driver''s license and access to a reliable vehicleWe offer a competitive pay and benefits, tuition reimbursement/education loan repayment, flexible scheduling, internal transfers and promotions, professional development, and the opportunity to work with national experts in the fields of autism and other developmental disabilities, brain injury, and behavioral D2May Institute is an Equal Opportunity employer of qualified individuals and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
