Would also consider remote employees.Job Type: Full Time, Direct HireReports To: Department Manager, Facilities EngineeringFLSA Status: Exempt, STOT eligibleDESCRIPTIONSeeking a self-driven engineering professional with 5 to 10 years of civil/structural engineering experience. The position will work independently and as a part of a diverse team of multi-discipline engineers and architects to solve problems and execute projects for industrial and manufacturing clients. Typical civil/structural projects include the layout, engineering design, and inspection of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundations for buildings, process structures, access platforms, mechanical equipment, conveyors and piping. Additionally, the position requires a strong knowledge of building and structural design codes. Level of responsibility will depend on current skill sets and the ability to show competence in completing assignments, leading projects, and mentoring junior engineers.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Work in a safe manner at all times. This includes adhering all federal, state, local established safety standards, as well as Matrix and client established safety standards.* Work under the direction of a professional engineer to complete engineering designs in accordance with accepted practices and company standards* If a registered professional engineer, direct other engineers and designers to complete engineering designs in accordance with accepted practices and company standards* Learn and apply engineering design software for structural analysis and 3D modeling* Assist with and lead the development of engineering contract documents including 3D models, drawings, details, specifications, and installation scopes of work.* Assist in gathering field data including hand measurements, surveying, and 3D scanning.* Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and solutions.* Prepare project correspondence as required.* Maintain positive client relationships on projects assigned.SPECIFICATIONS* 5 to 10 years of experience* Four-year ABET accredited Bachelor''s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)* EIT required; PE preferred* Structural drafting knowledge using AutoCAD and/or Revit* Experience and ability to guide others in design of structures and foundations for buildings and equipment using engineering design software such as Risa or RAM Structural Systems.* Experience and ability to guide others using 3D modeling software such as Bentley ProStructures or Revit* 3D scanning, surveying, or construction cost estimating experience a plus* Ability to travel* Ability to self-manage assignments for multiple projects* Positive and proactive attitude* Strong communication skills with clients and team members* Chemical, refining, manufacturing, or food experience a plusPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.* Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.* This position must also be able to perform industrial field work which may include hazardous locations, ladders, and stairs.About MatrixJoin the Matrix Team as we work with fortune 100 and 500 companies to create new products, improve existing production systems, and develop sustainable solutions that will impact our world every day.Matrix Technologies is an award-winning provider of engineering, automation, information system and smart manufacturing for the global marketplace.
