JOB TITLE - Brazer PAY RATE - $17-20+/hour DOE SHIFT: 1 st Shift- 5AM-3PM | Mon-Thurs; ** Optional OT on Fridays as needed. ** 3 MOST IMPORTANT QUALITIES CLIENT IS SEEKING: Reliability and High attention to details Motivated individual, Steady work history Person who is invested, capable of adapting and is willing to learn/work other areas. POSITION SUMMARY- Brazer will be using brazing equipment to weld joints, various work pieces, etc. , mostly tubing. Primary metal material used is copper to copper, sometimes copper to carbon and copper to steel. JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES: Use of shop tools and various shop equipment. Reading and interpreting works to approved documentation such as assembly prints, Gathering the required pieces, parts, and equipment for the brazing project from the necessary locations. Setting up and operating Brazing equipment. Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment or worktables, using hand tools. Apply brazing material using oxygen/acetylene hand torch to join component parts together. Holds torch at proper angle to metal and guides along braze joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld. Ability to maintain consistent braze patterns Hand shaping of and installation into component parts. Completes assemblies or subassemblies per documentation provided. Provides feedback to Production Supervisor regarding problems and issues involved in assembly of products or documentation. Adheres to company procedures and policies regarding personnel and quality issues. Other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Be able to frequently lift and/or move items up to 20lbs; Sometimes up to 50lbs, and occasionally with assistance up to 70lbs. May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling. Work is performed within a Metal shop environment, subject to temperature variations, mechanical parts, and dust.
