Together, we''re redefining an industry in desperate need of a shakeup.Position Purpose:Job Summary: Responsible for traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including inspection, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting various systems (electric, hydraulic, and mechanical), and repair work on a wide range of heavy equipment. A positive and customer focused attitude is required. The ideal candidate must understand that they are the face of the company while on the job, which includes personal appearance, vehicle cleanliness, and presentation. Position will be primarily residential, with the tech spending an entire day at a single customer location. Technician will occasionally travel to multiple sites in a single day on an ''as needed'' basis. Schedule all work with management team to make the most efficient use of timeComplete repairs on customer equipment in a timely mannerComplete repairs and perform maintenance on company fleetAssist in growing the assigned service territory by:Making sound maintenance and repair recommendations to customers (through inspections)Building strong customer relationshipsBuilds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures and keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributorPerform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Service shop and Factory standardsBasic testing knowledge of all machine systemsFollow all company safety policies and proceduresDevelops and employs diagnostic related reasoning skillsExamine the equipment to determine if additional safety related or service work is requiredMaintain accountability of all inventory parts on service vehicle, including periodic inventory spot checksAttends local, regional, national service schools and training sessions per Service department directiveMaintains a clean, orderly, and safe working area at customer job sites throughout the jobMaintains and cares for tools, equipment, and vehiclesCompletes all paperwork required for jobs in a timely mannerKeep abreast of factory technical bulletinsMaintains close, positive working relationships with service, parts and administrative personnelConducts himself / herself in the presence of customers in a manner which will retain a good opinion of the company and the service departmentPerforms as directed by the Service ManagementResponsible for operating heavy equipment and trucks in a safe mannerFollow all company safety policies and proceduresUnderstand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastesMust be teachable, with a willingness to learn in a fast paced, and ever changing, service environment. Requirements: Minimum 2 year Diesel Technology, or Heavy Equipment Technology degree or equivalent Refuse or Heavy Equipment repair experience required5 years of experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems or heavy equipment maintenance experience in field preferredWelding and cutting torch experience preferred.
