Job Description Provides Emergency Room technical support for physicians and nurses to optimize patient care. All activities are under the license of the MD. Assists the RNs and MDs in providing technical care of the patients by performing phlebotomy and IV starts, performing 12 lead EKGs, transporting patients to other departments, placing patient on cardiac and vital sign monitors, performs Point of Care Testing, performing wound care, inserting foley catheters, obtaining lab specimens and documenting all care/procedures provided. Assists the Emergency Physician with technical support such as suturing simple lacerations. Cleans equipment and workspace. The hospital is surrounded with waterfront views and wonderful local restaurants. POSITION PURPOSEProvides Emergency Room technical support for physicians and nurses to optimize patient care. All activities are under the license of the MD. Assists the RNs and MDs in providing technical care of the patients by performing phlebotomy and IV starts, performing 12 lead EKGs, transporting patients to other departments, placing patient on cardiac and vital sign monitors, performs Point of Care Testing, performing wound care, inserting foley catheters, obtaining lab specimens and documenting all care/procedures provided. Assists the Emergency Physician with technical support such as suturing simple lacerations. Cleans equipment and workspace. High school graduate or GED. Must have successfully completed 1) EMT/Paramedic training program or 2) CNA training as well as an IV Therapy and Phlebotomy course. Will consider Medical Corpsman Armed Forces experience and/or other medical specialties on an individual basis. Current CNA, EMT, or Paramedic license issued through the State of Florida. BLS (American Heart Association) required.
