Pay Range is between $23.13/hr - $57.64/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. **Range represents the minimum to maximum of the range from a level 1 to a level 3. The Systems Analyst - Epic will understand the functions and processes of customer departments and then analyze, design, implement, educate and assist the customers in the use of the software systems at Boulder Community Health (BCH). This work will be done while maintaining and/or improving patient safety, quality, workflow, and cost containment. In addition, the Systems Analyst - Epic will support hospital initiatives, compliance, data for regulatory bodies and the viability of BCH.Systems Analyst - Epic acts as an application coordinator who is the primary support contact for each application. The Systems Analyst - Epic coordinates all issues that arise during the Epic implementation project for the Systems Analyst''s application areas and must be very knowledgeable about the organization''s policies, procedures and business operations. Systems supported include our Epic EHR (Electronic Health Record) System for the hospital and ambulatory environments. More than two years of Epic experience preferred.Experience to develop high level of expertise using computer tools in a clinical setting is required.Some experience with clinical assessment, planning, protocol development, standards, policies and procedures is preferred.Participated in a minimum of one information systems implementation/go-live.Previous teaching/training and project management experience is preferredLevel 3More than five years of relevant healthcare IT experience required More than five years of Epic experience preferred.Experience to become very efficient in using computer tools in a clinical setting is required.Experience to become an expert in clinical assessment, planning, protocol development, standards, policies and procedures, quality control and inter-departmental issues and communications; Worked independently with a minimum of three years in implementing information systems.Previous teaching/training and project management is required.Working environment/Physical ActivitiesA tolerance for working in a fast paced work environment. This position requires quick thinking and problem solving skills. A demonstrated ability to multi-task; manage several different issues at a time.Physical requirements include the ability to lift and manipulate twenty (20) pounds on foot for several minutes. Manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination to work with small computer parts. Sensory requirements include visual acuity capable of reading monitors, reports, and hardware displays and audio acuity capable of telephone use and detecting audio alarm systems.Work with an open mind as a team member with other departments to come up with the best possible solutions for BCH to departmental and system-wide problems.May have to travel to other facilities or campuses.You may have to travel out of state for education opportunities 2-3 times per year.May be necessary to work, 12 hour day/night shifts, for 2-3 continuous weeks, 2-4 times per year.On-call is required per the on-call rotation scheduleAbility to manage vendor needsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes System/User NeedsActs as the primary support contact for the application''s end-usersIdentifies issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve themGuides workflow design, building and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with EHR softwareIdentifies and implements requested changes to the systemServes as a liaison between end users'' workflow needs and implementation staffMaintains regular communication, including participating in project team meetingsWorks with EHR representatives, BCH''s business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization''s business needs regarding the project deliverables and timelineDevelops an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization''s workflows by attending site visits, validation sessions, and other integrated sessionsparticipating in training and working with end usersTroubleshoots problems and questionsReviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadershipCommunicates with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.Continually reviews system operations to identify weaknesses, operational or workflow problems, and other areas that need improvement.Assists in evaluating systems, preparing an analysis of alternatives, and implementing enhancements to existing system.Documents description of problems/issues of departments, Writes user documentation. Develops & Implements Project PlansCreates and executes project plans, estimates timeframes, outlines specific tasks and identifies resources needed to complete projects on schedule and within budget.Assists customer departments with the implementation of clinical information systems.Monitors progress to keep projects on track by conducting regular project meetings and following up with areas that need assistance. Prepares and submits project documentation (i.e., risk management plan, communication plan, project status reports, etc.) to the assigned project manager and/or the Chief Information Officer.Supports End UsersResponds to user''s requests and/or work orders in a timely and professional manner by diagnosing problems, offering solutions and notifying the appropriate vendor if necessary.Provides technical and clinical system knowledge necessary to interface the hospital environment with that of the information system.Makes use of Information Systems problem/request tracking software. Keeps current documentation on all assigned tasks.Maintains system dictionaries and performs user management functions (i.e., adds, changes, deletes users, putting new users into appropriate user groups, granting database privileges, changing user profiles, inactivating users, and maintaining appropriate documentation for all user management functions.Assists with the development of documentation and policies/procedures regarding information systems. Assures all appropriate departments are involved in the development of policies which cross department lines.Plans systematic method to disseminate pertinent and ongoing information to customer departments.Ensures that all new documentation tools/forms are approved through the necessary committees.Assists with the development, implementation, and enforcement of the information system security, disaster recovery, and continuity of operation plans for Boulder Community Hospital information systems.Prepares flow charts and/or diagrams to demonstrate process flow or system operation.Provides education on the use of information systemsMay develop training schedule, training lesson plans, and written user documentation.May train users, provides support and assists where necessary to effect proper use of systems.About Boulder Community Health and Boulder, ColoradoUncompromising medical excellence delivered with respect and compassion.
