We have big goals for our Freeport Engineering group, and we''re working hard to build our Process and Project Engineering teams.This is where you come in.This position will perform Process Engineering Support for capital projects in study phase, scope development phase, and detail design and implementation for BASF in North America. This includes safety reviews, technology reviews, siting studies, infrastructure, and environmental assessments. Following the study phase, the incumbent will support the project development through the Conceptual planning phase and detailed design. This position is also responsible for updating and validating pressure safety valve calculations and providing process support to operating units in troubleshooting as required.Opportunities for long term career advancement and many interesting challenges exist within the group.. Formula for Success: You Will...Be responsible for the development of basic and detailed design of additions or modifications to existing facilities, as well as the potential for new plants.Provide process engineering support for capital project scope development including development of PFD''s, P&ID''s, equipment and instrumentation specification sheets, equipment sizing, instrument data, and line list data in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner. Process engineering support is for all phases of capital project development, including focus on basic engineering packages for detailed design.Support economic and technical evaluation of alternatives for investment projects.Prepare data for and participate in project technical reviews as required.Develop all process information for safety reviews.Participate in safety step reviews and appropriate value improving practices.Support environmental permitting by providing calculations and reviewing permit applications for Capital Projects.Review work performed by outside contractor process engineering.Hold responsibility for process simulations and process engineering studies.Be accountable for PSV revalidations and maintaining PSV calculations for assigned plant(s).Develop and/or maintain process simulations and material and energy balance analyses for operating units.Support North America Technical Network - Process Engineering and Site Process Engineering Peer Group.Participate in BASF auditing processes, HAZOP studies, and PHA revalidations.Identify and recommend process improvements and provide process troubleshooting and optimization related to improving efficiency, capability, and terface with operations to provide technical support and recommendations on methods and improvements to eliminate challenges and issues.
