Jump-start your career in Hematology/Oncology on our Blood Cancer Team!Here is some of what you can expect from being a Hematology/Blood Cancer Registered Nurse at PSL: You will be on a team that has won HCA''s prestigious Unit of Distinction award for excellence in nursing 5 times, and in 2021, was named the 1 Progressive Care Unit in HCA out of 190 eligible competing units. You will oversee and direct the care of patients with hematologic/oncologic diagnoses. You will serve as a primary nurse on a 24 - bed progressive care hematology/oncology unit working in collaboration with many cancer care groups, such as the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute, Rocky Mountain Cancer Center, and Sarah Cannon You will work with distinguished Oncology physician teams and other specialty services for well-coordinated patient centered care. You will also support patient receiving phase 1 research treatment with the Sarah Cannon Drug Development Unit (DDU). This collaboration allows patients to receive first-in-human clinical trials with the safety of having specialty trained hematology nurses to care for potential side effects. We are front and center in the rapidly evolving landscape of scientific advancement in the care, treatment, and cure for cancer! You will also work in support of our Pre/post Hematopoietic Stem cell program (HSCT) which is the 15th largest in the nation, and growing! You will also work closely with our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team and dedicated BMT ICU. You will gain a specialty skill set that includes delivery of chemotherapy agents, preparing patients for bone marrow transplantation, and the post care of transplanted patients. What qualifications you will need: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. ONS chemotherapy provider card required within the first 9 months of hire. If the staff member is PRN, they will not be required to have ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card because they will not have enough exposure to chemotherapy/biotherapy to maintain competency in this area. One year experience in an acute care setting is preferred. ACLS and ONS certification preferred.We are committed to providing our employees with the support they need.
