As an Illumina Software Technical Product Manager 2 you will work with internal and external stakeholders to elicit and analyze user needs, transform operational/user needs into system requirements and communicate requirements to development teams. This crucial role partners with system architects, software/firmware development and test teams to support development of Next Generation Sequencing platforms, Sample Preparation instruments and biochemistry based laboratory/manufacturing operations.Responsibilities:Coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams to transform user needs into a complete description of software system requirementsLead use case development, requirements gathering, requirements analysis and review meetingsCreate wireframes, high-quality workflow and process-flow diagrams, and other visualizations to communicate technical conceptsWrite formal, detailed software requirements specifications and software design documentationManage requirements priority, changes, and planning for future product versions in a scalable and sustainable designWork in a collaborative team environment; accurately and fully describe user needs to UX, software/firmware development, and testing team membersSupport overall project management such as sprint and release planningWork closely with software/firmware test teams to assist in troubleshooting system issues, and drive system design improvementsResearch, analyze and design complex information systems and technology solutions in support of user/business needs.Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing procedures that are cost effective and meets user/business needs.Requirements:Bachelor''s degree or higher in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or related discipline3-5 years in software systems analysisKnowledge of formalized requirements gathering and analysis methods and toolsStrong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills, for both technical and non-technical audienceExperience with Software Development Life Cycle and Scrum methodologiesAbility to multi-task, stay organized, and incorporate feedback in a fast-paced environmentExperience with Atlassian tools (Jama, Jira, Confluence) and prototyping tools (Balsamiq, Axure), a plus.Experience with Next Generation Sequencing and Data Analysis, a plusExperience with design/development/testing/support of software/firmware applications for biomedical instruments/ medical devices, a plusAll listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Concerns regarding COVID-19 continue as positive cases are experienced in the communities in which we operate.
