DESCRIPTION Job summaryAmazon Lab126 is an inventive San Francisco Bay Area research and development team that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronic devices. We design and engineer devices like Fire tablets, Kindle e-readers, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Echo, and more. What will you help us create? Work hard. Have fun. Make history. The Role:We are looking for a Senior DevOps/System Development Engineer with experience in creating, maintaining, building systems and developing tools for Embedded Systems/IoT products. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of platforms (Android, Linux, RTOS) and will be responsible for supporting the Build System that will power our next generation of devices. Strong understanding Makefiles, Build Systems, cross-compilation and toolchains is required. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 4+ years of professional software development experience3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language2+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systemsExperience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering teamBachelor''s degree in Computer Science, equivalent experience, or related field required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years experience in Build and Release Engineering.3+ years experience writing makefiles (GNUMake, CMake).1+ years experience with build tool development/maintenance using Open Embedded, Yocto, and/or Jenkins.1+ years experience with version control/Code-Review tools like Git, Gerrit, GitHub etc.1+ years experience setting up and/or maintaining automated build system.1+ years experience with scripting (python, bash etc).Understanding the integration between automated software test and the build process.Experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines.Experience with OpenEmbedded, BitBake, Keil IDE''s.Experience build frameworks, such as the Android build system, Yocto, Buildroot.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
