What You Will Do:JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, this role is a Dependent Licensed Provider responsible for diagnosing and treating patients independently and in collaboration with physician(s) and colleagues. The position provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the healthcare team, the patient, and the patient''s family. This role coordinates care to ensure quality, cost effective care, appropriate length of stay, patient safety and excellent customer service. Weekday, weekend, shift work, holiday and on-call may be required. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Education & Training: Master of Science degree with completion of an approved physician assistant program. National certification and approved Delegation Agreement to work under the supervision of a physician by the Maryland Board of Physicians. NPI number, DEA and CDS required. BLS required. ACLS required. Work Orientation & Experience: Previous APP experience is preferred. Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing and/or certification in area of specialty. Ability to demonstrate competency knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient''s requirements relative to his or her population specific and age specific needs. Highly effective verbal communication skills are required to interact with patient, family, departmental units, medical and nursing staff at all essential matters. Demonstrated/documented effective interpersonal skills. Maintains updated hospital safety and other mandatory training.
