Job Description, Business Optimization Lead, Hematology/Oncology (Senior/Executive Director, Project Delivery) Your Key Results Areas: Organize the update and implementation of the HemOnc Strategic Growth Plan Support critical business processes including: (1) Financial Risk Management; (2) Commercial Performance; (3) Resource prioritization, allocation, forecasting; (4) Operational Performance; (5) Quality; and (6) Customer Engagement Understand HemOnc business needs and lean into opportunities for optimization Responsibilities & Remit "¯The Senior/Executive Director will work with Therapeutic Unit Head (TUH), HemOnc Senior Leadership team (SLT) and key internal and external stakeholders to lead and coordinate the Strategic Growth HemOnc. Strategically"¯coordinate specific actions associated with HemOnc TU strategic growth plan implementation and/or revision including liaising with commercial team and cross enterprise functions Work with the Operations delivery lead to prepare and coordinate HemOnc business growth and optimization content and delivers presentations for SLT meetings and PM/CTM team meetings and other HemOnc TU events Maintain an understanding of current and future market trends that may impact current and/or future innovative HemOnc TU operational delivery strategies Scan the HemOnc therapeutic and operational landscape with the disease area leads to develop long-term implementation strategies that maximize opportunities to add value Maintain a solid understanding of the HemOnc competitive environment and continuously drive for cost competitive pricing Collaborate with Business segment leads and Operational Strategy Leads (OSLs) to ensure Compelling and feasible tailor-made proposal strategies that differentiate PPD HemOnc from the competition to continuously drive business growth. Facilitates cross functional deep dive into commercial losses for key strategic opportunities with focus on optimizing future performance Collaborates with cross-functional management to remove barriers and seek efficiencies in the development and adherence to HemOnc strategies Work in the annual/periodic review of client-specific business development plans to ensure HemOnc TU alignment with, and augmentation of, those plans Partnership with development operations and biotech portfolio leads as well as EDS, GCL; etc.to identify opportunities and to increase visibility into key target accounts Ensure we provide"¯drug development process, strategy, and planning"¯consulting with BioPharma, Biotech and Venture Capital partnerships'' leads and clients/potential clients to optimally position HemOnc TU capabilities Liaise with Disease Area Leads, Indication champions and SMEs to augment support for key commercial opportunities, case study repository and core capability materials for niche indications and populations Strengthening HemOnc SLT relationship and collaboration with Evidera, Global Product Development (GPD), Biotech/Biopharma, and Pharmacovigilance Group (PVG) physicians to optimize incorporation of specialist clinical and medical expertise and client relationships into proposal strategy and key operational challenges Chair/co-Chair TUH monthly HemOnc Business Strategy calls and pipeline review with key stakeholders. Responsible for focused agenda, communication of expectations to participants, documentation of outcomes, actions, and follow-up Drive the HemOnc TU team to leverage and consolidate all available data to build project strategy. Balance use of external research and data within PPD''s internal data sources Together with the Disease Area Leads coordinate revision and maintenance of HemOnc TU-specific 'sell sheets'' and BD rep training materials and presentations Focused on key growth opportunities for the HemOnc TU Member of the HemOnc TU SLT and serves as thought partner for the TUH on a variety of strategic and organizational decisions Organize weekly HemOnc SLT business review topics to ensure focus on key area Understand and support key business processes including (1) Financial Risk Management; (2) Commercial Performance; (3) Resource prioritization, allocation, forecasting; (4) Operational Performance; (5) Quality; and (6) Customer Engagement Work with Finance Pillar to optimize risk management Track and report commercial performance and trends Manage resource priorities for roles supporting study teams (Startup, Clinical Operations regional resources, logistics, labs, etc.) Track and report KPIs that reflect operational performance and quality Optimize client engagement opportunities Identify opportunities for business optimization and track backlog of ideas for prioritization "¯ Most Critical Competencies: Advanced Analytical capabilities Business/Financial acumen Strategic thinker Process improvement mindset Executive presence Verbal/Written communication Project management Results oriented LI-LC1 LI-Remote Education and Experience:"¯ Bachelor''s or preferably higher degree in science or business required 15 years of experience in a CRO, biopharma or biotech services industry"¯ Deep understanding, knowledge, and networking of the biopharma or biotech industries "¯Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Deep and current knowledge of the scientific, clinical, regulatory, operational and competitive landscape Strong global knowledge and awareness/understanding of global IRD drug development and delivery environment Strong commercial and financial acumen Executive presence and gravitas Strategic thinker with proven ability to support the IRD TU business through rapid growth and/or change In-depth knowledge of biopharma and biotechnology industry, concepts and terminology Ability to establish relationships with, and influence, customer scientific leaders Strong customer management skills and demonstrated ability to understand customer needs, have difficult conversations with internal/external stakeholders and customers, negotiate solutions and understand impacts on the overall program/portfolio"¯ Exceptional leadership skills with ability to motivate teams Ability to manage and fully integrate with key internal stakeholders such as Operations (EDS, Evidera, GCD, Government), Partnerships, AES, PPD Digital, Finance, and Proposal Development and follow-up to expand relationships and business opportunities Strong competitive and business intelligence with ability to convert strategies into IRD TU profitability and business growth Strong presentation skills Ability to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to, and understand, information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Must exhibit the skills to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, with the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization Demonstrated learning agility and openness to learning and keeping own knowledge and skill set current and evolving Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including good command of English language Working environment: PPD values the health and wellbeing of our employees.
