Laurel Life is looking for caring individuals with clinical level Masters degrees to join our team. In this role, you will provide individual and/or group therapeutic services to students in elementary, middle, or high school educational settings, supporting their growth, and building resiliency. You may also provide consultation and professional development programs to school staff.The School Based Mental Health Professional delivers therapeutic services in compliance with payer standards and via use of evidence based psychotherapeutic theories and practices. The Mental Health Professional completes counseling sessions, provides thorough and complete documentation in a manner necessary to meet established deadlines; and involves significant others in treatment process as deemed appropriate. Funding for services provided by the School Based Mental Health Professionals may come from billing private insurance companies or Medical Assistance or through contracts with the school district. In addition to the details and requirements for the employee listed below, Laurel Life expects the employee be committed to incorporating principles of trauma informed care in all areas of service delivery. Commitment to these principles in trauma treatment will be required through attendance in trainings and use of identified evidence-based practices. Trauma informed care includes cultural sensitivity and emphasizes a safe and respectful environment for all clients and staff. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide individual therapy services to clients in compliance with Chapter 5200 regulations governing outpatient psychiatric pile an individualized treatment plan for each client that includes counseling objectives and goals as well as a crisis plan. Meet with parent/guardian to review treatment plans as required by PA Act 62 relating to mental health consent to treat a plete clinical notes on all therapy sessions. Prepare written documentation describing a clients progress in achieving treatment goals.Deliver a maximum amount of direct client hours (as applicable).Maintain regular work schedule concurrent with district school day operating hours.While maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards, develop cooperative relationships with community agencies that will facilitate treatment services provided to all clients. Communication and collaboration to facilitate integration of child-serving efforts put forth by the agency, a District, and providers working in other child-serving systems.Administer evidence-based interventions, assessments, and outcome measurements to drive treatment. Attend individual and group supervision as required.Prepare progress reports as anize and lead therapeutic group sessions with students experiencing behavior or therapeutic issues when requested by payer. Classroom observations of students and consultation with school personnel on strategies for working with students including behavioral and resiliency-based interventions as munication with parents and/or guardians.Ongoing collaboration with the identified school district point of contact regarding service delivery and expectations.Participation at IEP and other team meetings as requested.Additional activities within the areas of expertise of staff and as requested by District.Collaboration with community agencies to develop cooperative and positive relationships.Work as a positive team member supporting the teams mission and goals, consistently working in a trusting and cooperative manner with fellow team members and supporting the teams common operating approach. Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by attending all required meetings, trainings and organizational trainings. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Employees are expected to comply with all conditions and requirements of the Employee Handbook and any amendments there to shall remain in effect.SKILLSExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop effective and meaningful relationships with clients. Must be able to remain calm in a crisis situation, identify underlying causes of problem situations, resolve conflicts, and de-escalate potentially explosive situations. Must be a team player. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality; negotiating and problem solving skills are also essential. Must be willing to work independently and follow defined processes. Initiative and persistence will be needed to achieve the defined goals.Work is completed as a member of a collaborative team in loco parentis, and, as a result, Employee must demonstrate the ability to use Emergency Safety Physical Interventions, and must utilize ESPI in compliance with Laurel Life policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and guidelines established by EPSI trainers and experts.EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelors Degree in Psychology or Social WorkGraduate degree in a clinical field issued by an accredited educational institution that included a clinical practicum. Licensure preferred (LPC, LCSW, LSW, LMFT) Specialized learning in Resiliency & Trauma.Specialized learning in evidence-based treatment interventions.WORK EXPERIENCEThree years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a clinical setting is preferred. SKILLSGood interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop effective and meaningful relationships with clients. Must be able to remain calm in a crisis situation, identify underlying causes of problem situations, resolve conflicts, and de-escalate potentially explosive situations. Must be a team player.WORKING CONDITIONSWork setting is an outpatient clinic building or satellite location. Clientele may at times be verbally or physically abusive.
