The Cogito Product team oversees the development and utilization of Epic reporting tools throughout the enterprise to drive strategic initiatives, improve safety& quality of care, and streamline operations. The team combines business knowledge with data and technology to empower decision makers and believes that user-friendly, self-service, embedded analytics products can improve patient outcomes, optimize processes, and reduce costs. We believe in providing actionable insights which drive real, measurable, impact! The developer enjoys coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to create solutions for improving operational and clinical decision making. The developer learns quickly, works independently, and is relentless in overcoming technical, process, and organizational obstacles.The Senior Cogito Developer will lead high-profile strategic projects and will be a reliable expert in translating clinical and business requirements into meaningful analysis within the Epic Cogito suite of tools. When necessary, the developer will appropriately apply data science techniques and other advanced analytics to solve problems as we expand into cognitive computing. The individual will need to build relationships with key stakeholders, be an expert in multiple Epic data sources, and implement sustainable solutions. The individual should bring project management experience and share best practices with the team. The analyst must be comfortable with mentorship and partnering with the Cogito Product and other teams within the Data and Analytics group.Job Responsibilities1. Individual ContributorGuides clinical teams and business stakeholders on large scope projects: gathering requirements, developing metrics, retrieving data, ensuring validity of results, and building out the appropriate Epic tool for the end-user.Proposes and creates innovative and appropriate data solutions (dashboards, reports, etc) for the measurement of processes and outcomesAdept at learning new information systems and how the data generated contributes to the data development lifecycleAdvises on new SlicerDicer data models, testing frameworks, and documentation and build practicesWorks with Cogito Product Team to periodically upgrade the Epic systemDemonstrates excellent data storytelling skills through outstanding presentation and communication to share findings in an understandable and actionable manner tailored to audience and customer''s needs2. Project ManagementResponsible for the coordination and completion of assigned projects, including project definition, assignment of task responsibilities, setting deadlines, and all other aspects of project dependently identifies and works to remediate project obstacles3. LeadershipIdentifies, defines, and implements new data-driven strategies and processes for the municates work plans, progress, findings, and interpretations effectively with a continual focus on educating and developing analytic capability of business customers and the organization overall.Trains and mentors team membersDevelops a ''trusted advisor'' reputation through expertise in data and the mentoring of others in the use of the Epic Cogito suite of toolsRequired Licenses, Certifications, RegistrationsEpic Cogito FundamentalsEpic Cogito Tools AdministrationRequired Education and ExperienceRequired Education: Bachelor''s Degree in Health Science, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Business, or related quantitative fields.Required Experience: Five (5) years of experience in analytics / business intelligence within a healthcare system using the Epic Systems electronic health record.Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/LicPreferred Education: Master''s degreePreferred Experience:Eight (8) years of experience in analytics / business intelligenceExperience with data visualization tools preferred (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, etc)Experience with Epic''s Cogito product suite including SlicerDicer, Custom SQL Metrics, Crystal Reports, Radar, Reporting Workbench, CogitoSQL TemplatesExperience working as a data analyst within a healthcare settingExperience with clinical, access, and/or revenue Epic applicationsPreferred Licenses/certificates/registrations:Certification in at least one of the following Data Models:Clinical Data ModelRevenue Data ModelAccess Data ModelCertification in at least one of the following other Cogito tools:SlicerDicerCogitoSQL TemplatesRadar SQL MetricsImplementing Cognitive ComputingAdditional Technical RequirementsExperience with SQLKnowledge of relational database structuresExperience in project managementTo carry out its mission, it is of critical importance for the Children''s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to keep our patients, families and workforce safe and healthy and to support the health of our global community. In keeping with this, CHOP has mandated all workforce members on site at any CHOP location for any portion of their time be vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition of employment. This mandate also applies to workforce members performing work for CHOP at non-CHOP locations. Additionally, all workforce members based in or regularly scheduled to work at any New Jersey location are mandated to be both vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19, with booster timing consistent with applicable guidelines. The CHOP COVID-19 vaccine mandate is in alignment with applicable local, state and federal mandates. CHOP also requires all workforce members who work in patient care buildings or who provide patient care to receive an annual influenza vaccine. Employees may request exemption consideration for CHOP vaccine requirements for valid religious and medical reasons. Please note start dates may be delayed until candidates are fully immunized or valid exemption requests are reviewed.
