SIS Engineer

SIS EngineerLocation: Sweeny, TXPosition type: Long contractProvide consulting services to clients in all aspects of safety instrumented systems including conducting SIL assessments, developing Safety Requirements Specifications. The SIS engineer will serve as plant champion of instrument safety issues, resolving questions and issues through familiarity with industry, governmental, and plant safety standards.Responsible for the PLC and shutdown system across the plant. Cross-functional advocate for best practices in the selection, implementation, and maintenance of the SIS asset base to ensure that safety, regulatory, production, and optimization objectives are met.Is the functional owner of PLC and shutdown system hardware. Assists in the development, implementation, design, specification, and maintenance of Safety and shutdown system hardware. Reviewing/Updating/Approving Cause & Effects, SIL Calculations, Shutdown NarrativesIs the functional owner of PLC and shutdown system hardware. Assists in the development, implementation, design, specification, and maintenance of Safety and shutdown system hardware.Accountable to maintain evergreen PLC and shutdown systems inventory list and Obsolescence management plan to track hardware and software rev., identify obsolescence and phased out hardware and firmware across the refinery.Participate in the Safety Lifecycle (SLC) activities related to PLC and shutdown system, which may include: LOPA/PHA, design, implementation, commissioning, MOC, and decommissioning7 or more years of instrumentation experience in the refining, petrochemical, or oil and gas operating facility industries profferedSAP experience Bachelor''s degree in an engineering discipline
