Sr. Category Manager, NA Finished Goods & Raw Materials - Apex, NC Are you a highly motivated Procurement professional ready to take on a new and exciting challenge supporting our strategic supplier development and global procurement efforts? If so, come join our Global Procurement Organization at Apex Tool Group as Sr. Manager, North American Finished Goods & Raw Materials.You will manage current relationships and identify new opportunities with key strategic suppliers in North America, with a focus on finished goods, metals, and resins. Our strategy is to form relationships with suppliers who are pivoted to grow in parallel and help us drive productivity. The effective leader in this role will also ensure supplier compliance and/or recognized legal and ethical practices related to global sourcing and support efforts to improve our working capital position through improved payment terms, productivity improvements, and cost savings initiatives.This position will report to our Sr. Director, Procurement, NAHT & Raw Materials and will work closely with other members of the Global Procurement Organization, as well as a global cross-functional team including marketing, engineering, quality, and operations.Key Responsibilities Lead in the development, implementation, and communication of our corporate-wide Global Procurement Strategy, specifically for N.A. Finished Goods and Raw Materials Support NPD & SBU efforts for assigned categories; closely working with engineering and product teams to identify potential suppliers on new products. Own supplier partnerships and supplier relationship management for the geographic region, including the management of policies and procedures; including identifying innovative products from local suppliers, recommending them to the marketing team for review to support growth Establish key performance indicators and performance standards across all categories and suppliers; monitor performance on an ongoing basis to ensure sustained success Lead negotiation strategy development, as well as conduct negotiations for newly created partnerships and for existing partnerships as agreements expire; oversee RFI and RFP processes Work with various business leaders to identify and qualify suppliers, establishing baseline expectations and follow up to ensure performance and internal customer satisfaction Constantly monitor global supplier market characteristics to identify trends and opportunities resulting from market shifts, act as the subject matter expert to the business and GPO Oversee supplier qualification and certification programs for assigned categoriesCritical Skills & Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in a Supply Chain or Engineering related discipline 7+ years in a Procurement role with experience in metals and/or resins In-depth knowledge and understanding of Strategic Planning, Sourcing Strategy Formulation and Implementation, Supplier Analysis and Negotiation Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills and abilities; high integrity Highly skilled in negotiation strategies and tactics to achieve desired outcomes; ability and capacity to develop and plan tailored strategies based on geographic region Ability to act as a change agent influencing others to buy-in to improvement strategies Excellent analytic skills using Supply Chain, Procurement software and Excel; SAP preferred Fluent English language skills in both written and oral communication Strong Project Management skills Able to travel up to 25%At Apex Tool Group (we''re passionate about innovation.
