Provides diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, Interprets and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments. Maintains artificial respirators and other airway equipment.Respiratory Therapist Overview Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assess patient knowledge and teaches protocols for airway clearance/aerosol medication delivery and inhaler usage to the outpatient populationEducates patients about pulmonary medications and proper equipment cleaningTriages calls from families and patients regarding pulmonary equipment and technique issuesServes as a resource for the nursing staff and respiratory therapistsReviews educational materials with inpatients and outpatients.Minimum Qualifications:License through MN Board of Medical Practice as Respiratory Therapist,Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC),Minimum Education-Associate Degree in Respiratory Care Required,Basic Life Support (BLS) current2 years full time equivalent Acute Respiratory Care experience required.Airway ClearanceCPRPatient and family educationTriageQuality ImprovementRespiratory Equipment maintenanceKnowledge of physical, psychosocial and cognitive developmental needs for population served.Knowledge of age appropriate outcomes and pletes required learningsCompetent in computer use with Microsoft programs, Epic EMR, email, phone, voicemail, and pager systemsAttention to detailCollaborationCommunication skillsDesire to work with patients with chronic diseaseLocation: 909 Fulton St. SE Minneapolis, MN 55455Hours: 1.0 FTEM Physicians offers competitive salary and excellent benefits and provides you with the opportunity to enhance your career in the exciting field of health care through rewarding and challenging assignments and the opportunities for advancement.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
