Description Job Summary The Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Leader works to create and enforce a culture of safety within the organization. Position works with the Corporate Safety Leader and Process Control Supervisor to implement programs, policies, and assessments to ensure Pioneer Metal Finishing is in compliance with all federal, state and local health and safety regulations, and to ensure a safe environment for all employees, visitors, and contractors.Supervises, instructs, trains, and coaches the hourly personnel on Wastewater team in all aspects of the job, including the proper techniques, work instructions, production methods, quality assurance and plant operation. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities In conjunction with the Corporate Safety Leader (CSL) and Corporate Process Control Supervisor (CPCS), maintains and enforces safety policies and procedures based on federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Keeps abreast of federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. Recommends modifications to policies and procedures as required when laws and regulations are changed or developedIn conjunction with the CSL and CPCS, develops and delivers training programs on EH&S policies, procedures, and regulations.Implements effective emergency response action programs.Works with the CPCS to implement programs to monitor physical, biological and chemical hazards; develops action plans to alleviate potential risks.Ensures necessary records and reports are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.Accurately documents and records confidential information; maintains confidentiality.Serves as a point of contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies as directed by the CPCS and the CSLAssists Human Resources with Workers Compensation claims regarding investigations, modified duties, and return-to-work programs.Performs safety audits, testing, and training for current and new employees.Coordinates monthly safety meetings with staff.Partners with all levels of the organization to promote health, safety, and environmental topics.Maintains SDS sheets for the facility per the GHS standards.Helps to ensure target safety KPIs are met.Responsible for achieving maximum performance of the Wastewater team while maintaining high quality standards.Drives activities needed to achieve results; creates a safety-first culture with employees.Works in conjunction Human Resources on all personnel issues for employees on Wastewater team including coaching, training, performance reviews and necessary disciplinary actions. Physical/Environmental/Chemical Hazards Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted.Must be able to differentiate between color variance.Potential splash exposure near process lines.Various chemicals used in process. Education/Qualifications 3 Years of experience performing similar duties in a manufacturing environment.Associates Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred.Sufficient knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices to effectivelycreate and enforce a culture of safety within the organization.Demonstrated organizational, recordkeeping and documentation skills, including attention to detail.Strong written and oral communication skills; ability able to communicate and provide verbal feedback in a professional manner.Self-motivated, positive attitude, and the ability to build collaborative relationships; demonstrates enthusiasm for the role.Proficient computer skills, including skills with Microsoft Office and ERP software.Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.
