Job Description

At Argonne, you will have the opportunity to work with talented, world-class employees. As a Physical Therapist (PT), you will be responsible for providing physical therapy services from diagnosis to treatment and managing musculoskeletal dysfunctions. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. An on-site physical therapy program allows the PT to observe and improve the patients work environment, provide hands-on care, and collaborate with the medical team to provide the best outcome for our patients.Responsibilities:Provide supervision and direction to PTA for patient treatments and documentation.Provide pre-employment testing and communicate results with the clinicians.Assistance with the ergonomic program: office and industrial ergonomic evaluations.Develop individualize department material movement program based on field studies and implement these programs in a form of presentation.Review and revise current job demand analysis reports and develop new job demand analysis reports based on field studies.Position RequirementsExperience in outpatient physical therapy with a focus in orthopedics, manual therapy, and industrial rehabilitationAbility to perform direct patient care, including evaluation of physical problems to improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit physical disabilitiesAbility to plan, design, implement, and interpret a physical therapy treatment program to aid patient recovery and achieve the optimal physical potential for the patientAbility to provide supervision and direction to PTA to provide high-quality service and patient careAbility to educate patients in the proper care and use of tools and performance of home exercise programs (HEP)Ability to maintain professional standards, complying with quality assurance policies/procedures, regulations, and Argonne National Laboratory policiesAbility to demonstrate problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilitiesExperience maintaining patient care records and writing reportsExperience developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standardsTime management, planning, and workload controlDetail-oriented and organizedExcellent people skillsAbility to model Argonnes Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and TeamworkThe selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level (PT2 or PT3) dependent upon the depth and breadth of relevant knowledge and skills.
