We design our client''s products with a focus on the user needs and requirements, while making smart design choices based on our extensive and diverse product development experience.PLEASE NOTE: ONLY candidates that have a minimum of 5 years of FPGA/CPLD/programmable logic design will be considered.The OpportunityWe are currently searching for an experienced FPGA Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for the development, simulation, implementation, and testing of FPGA/CPLD and embedded microprocessor-based systems for state-of-the-art medical devices. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for being part of a team developing medical technologies that improve people''s lives. The candidate will be expected to perform activities including assisting in architecture design, RTL coding, timing closure, basic testbench development, and integration testing with various teams.This opportunity is a chance to work on cutting-edge medical devices heavily utilizing FPGAs for image and video processing. The challenges involved bring learning and professional development opportunities, and ultimately, the reward of seeing a device you helped design help patients.Education And ExperienceBachelor''s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline5+ years'' experience in FPGA/CPLD/programmable logic designRecent experience with Intel (Altera) or Xilinx design workflows using VHDL and Verilog Experience with Altera (Intel) Quartus Prime strongly preferred. Experience with Platform Designer, NIOS II, and/or HPS processor configuration and integration preferredExperience with PCIe, Avalon, AXI, and DMA concepts strongly preferredExperience performing DSP using FPGAsImage or video processing experience is a plus.Experience with video buses such as LVDS, DisplayPort, HDMI, or SDI preferredExperience with FPGA and HPS/PS integration using Linux is a plusSome experience with embedded software development in C is preferredExperience with MCUs such as the ARM Cortex M or Cypress PSoC series preferredKnowledge of and ability to work in a safety-related quality process preferredKnowledge And SkillsBasic digital electronics debugging skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)Ability to write system requirements, design documentation, and test reportsKnowledge of digital video fundamentals preferredExcellent analytical skillsHigh level of initiative with ability to self-manageStrong interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a teamExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSterling Medical Devices (SMD) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
