Description Background information:Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems for the US Department of Defense (DOD) and commercial customers, is seeking a Software Engineer to be based in our Mt Laurel, NJ. They will work with senior leadership and a fast-paced team of mission-focused engineers to solve some of our customer''s toughest challenges. Initiative, creativity, reliability, and efficient teamwork will be required to successfully deliver innovative solutions in this dynamic customer space. Overview:We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop and integrate software solutions, and to support DevSecOps solutions, in support of our DoD and commercial customers as well as our internal development teams. The successful candidate will contribute to building high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that supports the full stack development and maintenance of a cloud-based DevSecOps environment.Software Engineer responsibilities include understanding user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code in various languages, like Java, TypeScript, and Python. The ideal candidate is familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC). Additionally, the candidate will be versed in full stack development including, but not limited to, container orchestration and networking, as well as Infrastructure as Code tooling. All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance. Responsibilities Include: * Contribute to full stack development and test using automated provisioning tools with multiple hypervisor support* Design and implement software services in support of a DevSecOps environment* Work with open-source technologies as needed* Implement documented design including coding and testing* Develop software interfaces to communicate across Network protocols including TCP and UDP (DDS, REST, etc.)* Participate and provide feedback in design reviews & code reviews* Communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues and lead engineers across multiple locations within the United StatesMinimum Required Qualifications: * Minimum 3 years'' experience in software engineering, including full stack development* B.S. in software engineering or computer scienceRequired skills: * Experience with languages such as Java, Python, and bash* Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)* Experience with Linux* Prior work in full stack development and deployment* Comfortable with configuration management tools such as Git* Experience working with SW development tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and Nexus, etc.* Familiarity with Agile software development methods and practices* Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and culture* Ability to travel approximately 25%Preferred skills: * Experience with DevSecOps practices and culture* Experience with service-based, cloud platforms such as AWS* Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases* System integration and test experience for complex software applications including experience with various software testing tools (Selenium, SoapUI, Sikuli, etc.)* Experience with virtualization (hypervisor) environments such as VMware* Familiarity with web-based security concepts like OAUTH* Competencies:* Ability to create and employ requirements and specifications during development* Desire to stay current with industry trends and best practices.* Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts* Be capable of working independently, but thrive in a team environment* Solid analytical abilities, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and driveEEO Statement:IDT is an Equal Opportunity employer.
