(based on qualifications) We are seeking a full time Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Day/Night rotation or Nights -3 x 12 hour shifts. The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 24-bed unit in the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute located on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, Virginia. Patients admitted to the CVICU include, but are not limited to, post cardiac surgery, post vascular surgery, heart failure requiring invasive cardiac monitoring, and other medical or surgical diagnosis requiring intense and continuous monitoring. The CVICU is also a very specialized unit that cares for the most critically ill patients within Inova. These complex, critically ill patients require the best care the nursing profession has to offer. A sample of these patients includes: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Heart Transplant - Lung Transplant Heart and Lung Transplant Heart Failure Ventricular Assist Device Implantation and Management Total Artificial Heart Cardiogenic Shock Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Minimally Invasive valve replacement Transcutaneous Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) MAZE procedure Surgical intervention for Atrial Fibrillation Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Therapeutic Hypothermia post cardiac arrest Thrombolytic Therapy related to Vascular Emergencies Inova Fairfax Hospital is proud to announce that the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) awarded Magnet® designation, the most prestigious accolade for nursing excellence, to our hospital in December 2020. Requirements: • At least 1 year of RN clinical experience in a Critical Care setting or completion of a Critical Care fellowship. • 1 - 2 Years of Critical Care/Cardiovascular RN experience strongly preferred. • Education - BSN or AD Nursing; if RN has Associates degree they must commit to obtaining BSN within 24 months of hire. • BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months) • RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN • Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills • Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others • Proficient computer skills required IND1 LI-KKS123About UsInova is Northern Virginia''s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
