For additional company information, please visit: Responsibilities As a Data Engineer with MTSI you will perform the Connect, Extract, Transform, Load workflows for classified government identified data-sources on the Air Force Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (AFTENCAP) DevNet Program. The Data Engineer will work alongside Systems Administrators, back-end Developers, and user interface Developers. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: * Connect to external end point on respective data source network (e.g. NIPR, SIPR, JWICS).* Establish NIFI connection on respective data source network (e.g. NIPR, SIPR, JWICS).* Develop NIFI code on respective data source network (e.g. NIPR, SIPR, JWICS).* Test NIFI connection on respective data source network (e.g. NIPR, SIPR, JWICS)* Create a test data set.* Perform manual query and/or extraction of data [from source] on respective network (e.g. NIPR, SIPR, JWICS), or receive sample data from provider.* Condition test/static data set on data source''s respective network (e.g. NIPR, SIPR, JWICS).* Create a notional unclassified data set be created, to expedite unclassified development.* Develop xml schema as necessary to send across domain via the CSG on the respective data source network (e.g. NIPR, SIPR).* Convert data to XML as necessary to pass through the CSG.* Test data movement through the CSG.* Assess need, extent of data transforms.* Transform/Modify data to meet intent for ingestion to the Data Lake.* Combine data with other datasets as required for project.* Convert to JSON if necessary for ingestion to the Data Lake.* Apply geo-tagging and query indexing for KDP.* Import (test/static) data to KDP/GMSpace and make available.* Streaming data into Data Lake. Qualifications * You must have outstanding skills in communicating complex technical issues and in providing comprehensive written, oral and/or digital products (including document organization and technical writing).* You must have good analytic skills and the ability to apply these skills in a multi-tasking environment where more than one project may require your participation at a given time.Required Technologies: * Apache Storm; Spark.* Accumulo.* Apache Nifi.* Kafka.* .xml.* .json.* Rest Services (APIs).Preferred Technologies: * Koverse.* Python.* Neo4j-Enterprise.MINIMUM EDUCATION REQIREMENTS: * Bachelor''s degree in software engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, physics, or a closely related field from an accredited university.* Master''s degree in software engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, physics, or a closely related field from an accredited university, (DESIRED).CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: * Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI)* U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $100,000/year to $150,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
