The Capitol Riverfront BID is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Job Description: The Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District (BID) seeks a Communications Coordinator to support marketing, branding, public relations, and programming initiatives that further promote the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood as a vibrant live, work, and play destination. This is a junior level marketing position that reports directly to the VP of Marketing & Operations and collaborates with the Events & Marketing Manager.Responsibilities and Duties:The projects and tasks managed by the communications coordinator include but are not limited to the following:Oversee social media management, creating innovative content for all Capitol Riverfront social channels.Draft and edit new ideas and copy for digital channels, and ideate as well as implement opportunities with local partners and influencersAssist with twice-monthly newsletter publication by collecting and drafting content.Manage website marketing efforts collaboratively with both marketing and economic development teams, including but not limited to relevant updates and featured content.Assist with marketing and community building related events hosted by the BID.Help manage public relations and press requests as well as other engagement with media.Work with VP of Marketing & Operations to manage relationships with neighborhood retailers for promotional efforts and other communications.Work with events & marketing manager on all event marketing efforts to ensure successful programs and activations throughout the neighborhood.Manage other marketing, public relations, and advertising projects as assigned.Address and manage general inquiries submitted to the organization, related to the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.Oversee organizational library of all architectural, placemaking, and events related photo assets.Required Skills & Experience:1-2 years of experience in a similar fieldExperience in creating dynamic B2C content on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram platforms; as well as knowledge in social media analytics and publishing software.Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively and professionally communicate in writing or in person with a diverse group of staff members, stakeholders, and external terpersonal, organizational, and execution skills to complete a diverse array of projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic about projects with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn new novative and idea-driven to elevate digital marketing efforts on a daily basis.Ability to critically think and manage multiple projects with limited supervision, and willingness to assist other teammates as needed.Highly detail-oriented and able to multi-task and work collaboratively with other members of the team.Proficient computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Skills & ExperienceStrong eye for detail, especially regarding the writing and editing of social media, website, and e-blast copy.Previous work in a digital marketing or communications role.Graphic design and Canva experience a plus.------------------------------------------------------------------About the BID: The Capitol Riverfront BID is a 501©(6) nonprofit organization in Washington, DC that provides place management services to assist in creating a neighborhood that is clean, safe, accessible, unique, friendly, and vibrant.
