We strive to ensure that our medicines are available wherever our patients are.The state-of-the-art facility specializes in producing Flexbumin through the GALAXY manufacturing process and plastic flexible container system.About the role:The Head of Manufacturing Science is responsible for providing technical support of to day-to-day operations, setting strategies to maximize yield and capacity as well as, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to ensure the supply of life-saving plasma plasma-derived therapeutics to patients worldwide. The incumbent is a member of the Site''s Leadership Team and works closely with counterparts across the global network to ensure that site, network, and company objectives are met. Further, this key leader reinforces Takeda''s values of Patient, Trust, Reputation, and Business.How you will contribute:Manages, coaches, and mentors a growing team of scientists and engineers.Provide oversight for the Round Lake Pilot Lab.Responsible for process validation and technical approval of product/process documentation.Supports technical aspects of day-to-day operations, including process knowledge and problem-solving.Develops and directs the strategy for the organization to maximize process efficiency, drive innovation, and ensure process robustness.Fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement as well as the use of lean, six sigma and DMAIC methodologies.Works closely with counterparts across the global network to share best practices and optimize process performance.Ensures compliance with current GMP and other regulatory requirements.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Typically requires a bachelor''s degree, preferably in a scientific or engineering discipline.10+ years of professional experience in a similar role in the field of Technical Operations, Process Management, or Manufacturing within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably including aseptic fill/finish experience with 7+ years in a management role.Strong technical knowledge of biochemistry, chemistry, and engineering principles.Track record of managing and growing the capabilities of a technical team.Broad knowledge and experience within a GMP environment and aseptic fill/finish operations.Knowledge of continuous improvement principles.Experience with Regulatory Affairs and working with auditors.Ability to communicate technical information to all levels of the organization.Strong leader who can influence others at the site and across the network.What Takeda can offer you:Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, Dental, and VisionFinancial Planning & Stability: 401(k) with company match and Annual Retirement Contribution PlanHealth & Wellness programs, including onsite flu shots and health screeningsGenerous paid time off for vacation, sick leave, and volunteeringCommunity Outreach Programs and company match of charitable contributionsFamily Planning SupportProfessional development and training opportunitiesTuition reimbursementImportant Considerations:Physical DemandsMust be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 30 general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.Working EnvironmentMust be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body.No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.
